...I picked up the GEQ and want to make sure I don't screw the pooch when trying to install it.  I think I have to switch over to the new WAVES Central installer.  Any info??

It's easy, painless, and in the end better. I got from a vid that it done the removing of the old stuff for you when you install, but it doesn't. If you select the 'easy install and activate' can't remember what it is called, the left hand side option of the 3 in Waves Central, it IS supposed to remove the old and install the new for you. But I just installed, manually removed all the old stuff woli and the license thing all the plugs, cleaned out any left over folders, then let it install all my plugs again. Can't remember the actual sequence, but it was easy and without issue.

I did it this way also. Just make sure you remove all folders waves from everywhere. I uninstalled all the plugins, moved my license to the server then uninstalled the older software. Installed the new software and the plugins and my licenses. Sounds like a pain but really wasn't.

Yes, I forgot that, I moved all my licenses to the server first before uninstalling etc

Welp...I watched the tutorials and used the easy DL and activate to install the GEQ but, according to WAVES, simply installing and running the new Central removes all your old plugs and you must then install them using the install plugins button and then reassign them to your flash drive using the manage license button ...which is what I'm doing now...

BUT

After 45 minutes of downloading it was only about a third of the way through...so I just left it running and came home. I'll see what I and WAVES have wrought on the morrow.

I assume this only makes sense if WUP is active ???

Mine isn't and I currently don't feel the need to re-WUP

Welp...as usual with moi...my internet connect at the studio is too slow to take the giant parallel download from waves central.  It's crapped out twice after running over an hour and the folks at waves say prepare an "offline installer" and do it that way.  Let's hope by tomorrow I have my waves plugs back.

'ol pal, you're a FAR more patient man than I!
<rant>
That revolving "W" (I HATED that thing!) sent me running when they tried to WUP up my a$$.
I gave my waves to Larry, and I'm happier for it!
And I showed Mr Slate (subscription, WTF!; homey don't play that!) my full moon as well.
I'm far to old and contentious to put up with a bunch of bullshirt!
Uninstall and find a plug that works without a bunch of happy hoops to jump through
</rant>
Just sayin'
Hope tomorrow's a better day 'ol pal !
