I just bought Kinetic Metal - I've never really used Kontakt, but got the player and factory selection a couple of years ago.  I got this message when I tried to load up my new instrument.  I went to the service center like the prompt said, but it looks like I have the latest version updated...

Anyone find a solution to this?

You can always download the latest version of Kontakt Player from NI website.  It's free.

Despite what the message says, I would go ahead and uninstall the Player, then grab the latest one and install again.  That way you know for sure.  Let us know what happens.

It was actually just the Kontakt Player.  It was version 5.3.  Something was strange, but I just downloaded it again from the website and reinstalled.  It worked fine after that.

Thanks JonD - that worked.  Not sure what the problem was...

I've seen the same behavior before. You get a message that Kontakt is out of date, but Service Center tells you otherwise. The issue was that the previous Kontakt update had quietly failed, leaving me thinking I was up to date. Service Center, also unaware of the update fail, also thought I was up to date - it took a re-install to make it actually so.
