I fully understand why you've closed the Forum Discussion forum, probably for the best for all the reasons you state.
 
However, if you recall, Beepster started a popular and well-supported thread that appeared in there requesting the possibility of creating a "Song Collaboration" forum. A lot of us thought such a forum would be a great addition to the current range of sub-forums and would complement the "Songs" forum perfectly.
 
Whereas the Songs forum would remain the place to post finished or near-finished songs, such a 'Collaboration' forum would make the ideal place to post such things as Works-In-Progress, Tunes-requiring Lyrics, Lyrics-requiring-Tunes, Songs-requiring-additional-musicians etc - you get the idea.
 
Would it not have been possible maybe to convert/rename the Forum Discussion area into such a forum? I'm sure it would have been fairly easy to accomplish this, and add back in forum host powers as required?

I also agree with having a collaboration forum......glad you brought it back up Steve. Hopefully, if enough people request it here, the Bakers might add it?

Hi, guys. Yeah... that thread seems to be some collateral damage in the removal of the Forum Discussions sub forum.
 
Don't worry though... I remember everything that was said there and have all the pertinent ideas included in what I was going to (and still can) bring up to the Bakers.
 
I've just, as usual, veered off into other distractions due to my health, ADD, personal projects and general derptitude.
 
I've still been kind of refining it and gaining a little more insights on the finer details through some ongoing collabs.
 
HOWEVER it might be good if that thread has NOT been completely baleeted to maybe toss it into the Songs forum for people to continue adding suggestions to. That of course would be the most obvious place due to the high number of collab contributors there and the general nature of that forum (also any Collab forum would of course be very much linked to the Songs forum for final releases of Collabs generated).
 
Thanks for bringing it up, Steve. I was going to mention it but am... as usual... a little distracted by some other mayhem at the moment.

I agree with this, unfortunately.
 
As for the discussion about the collaboration forum, why not just have the discussion in the Songs forum.
