You've probably heard some variation on the 80/20 rule, such as "20% of the workers do 80% of the work", or "20% of the population causes 80% of the crime". Ever wonder if there's any factual basis for such claims?

Question for the magic ratio folk:

If 20% of the workers overall do 80% of the work, then does it also hold that 20% of those comparatively efficient workers do 80% of that work. IOW 4% of the overall workforce would do 64% of the overall work, roight?

And that ultimately led me to this one from recordingrevolution.com, in which the principle is applied to mixing.

I thought this was very good. Simple concept. Makes sense. I can see benefit in applying it.

I've been going over to Graham's site for a while now. His emphasis is on using what you got and don't expect some magic plug-in (such as the magical "Talent 1.2") to make your stuff sound fantastic - avoid GAS. Blog is good and he has a lot of videos. Good stuff

bapu, you're certainly doing your part to raise "bapu"'s ranking.

I was going to point out that your post contained the most-used word in the English language, thereby defeating that strategy. But it didn't. Nor did either of your other posts in this thread. It's as if you're intentionally avoiding the #1 word - is that part of your plan?

Isn't using that word a violation of the TOS?

.....and here I thought the 80/20 originated from Medicare coverage. I really need to have my eyes checked......I read that as the Pedro Principle.
