I created a sequence in ChordPulse and recorded it into Sonar but I had a hard time doing it. Seems like there should be an easier way.
 
The way I got it to work was to use VoiceMeeter but it took me 30+ minutes to get Sonar to recognize the output of VoiceMeeter as an input. I am not sure what I did to get it to work and not sure how I would do it again lol
 
I also tried exporting a midi file form ChordPulse and then importing into Sonar. The import worked but I couldn't get all the instruments setup to sound like the original ChordPulse, which uses, by default, the GM midi on my computer. The midi notes did not match the sounds in the various synths I have. I tried to move things around but I wasn't getting anywhere.
 
Is there any easier way?

Use Cakewalk TTS-1. 


Import all the midi tracks from ChordPulse, insert TTS-1 and assign the synth instruments to corresponding midi channel.  It won't sound exactly the same but close enough.

Starting with X3 if there is no MIDI output device defined in SONAR it will automatically use TTS-1 when opening a MIDI file.

Yeah I just export the midi, 'Save as midi file' select from the various options, save midi as one track (format 0) or individual instruments to separate tracks (Format 1) then drag it into Studio One or Reaper and all the instruments and midi data are in their respective tracks, then assign instruments to the tracks, eg BFD to the drums, Trilian or Sampletank whatever to the bass, Dimension Pro or whatever to the keyboards, you get the idea. Sounds MUCH better than straight out of Chordpulse. Not what you are after, but there you go. (I guess it will work like that or similar with Sonar, no longer have it installed)

Thanks! I will give this a try tonight. I used a combination of other instruments and other than the piano, it wasn't close lol

Hmmmm. I dragged the midi file from my HD into a midi track. It did not use TTS-1. Is dragging it and opening it different? I will give it a try tonight. Thanks!

Drag and Drop should work. Verify no output devices are selected in Preferences > MIDI > Devices

It is possible to connect ChordPulse to SONAR using a virtual MIDI cable such as LoopBe1 or LoopMIDI. While it has limitations, ChordPulse will play SONAR hosted synths and record without saving an interim MIDI file.
