Yo Mr. Bob, that was interesting.  It was long, and I lost interest after awhile, because I seen this before

Ecclesiastes 1:9..."What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun."

I don't know though.

Here is a cool link, Mr. Mosquito might like it cause he is into movies, but he pry seen it before, but it is still a cool read, kind of...

The end gets into IP and how the copyright and patent systems have been twisted to benefit the few instead of the masses.

I thought using music and film as examples, then moving into the beginning of the tech was a good way to tie it all together, but it is long ... by today's standards.

A lot of folks bail once they get the idea that it's about LZ bashing

Interesting read.  I enjoyed reading The Divine Comedy for all of the years it took me to finish it   Another interesting note; you complained about the length of the utube vid, then posted a War & Peace length examination of a single film!

Seriously - I enjoyed it.

Hi,

I never reviewed "Easy Rider" and will likely have to see it again, because a lot of it is kind of lost in my head. At the time, I thought the film was over blown and it was just a stony trip down to whatever, and I kind of thought that the premise that it was based on something else, is not really as clear, and the folks shooting the film were too ripped to even know who Faust or Dante were. Hollywood, after all, is not exactly known for their literary talent. It's more like mannequin talent and shapes than anything else.

I will likely review it since it is a seminal film for that time ... although I did not find (at the time) a whole lot that was major or interesting, even as a film itself ... but it is pure "Americana"!

Hello Mr. Bob F,  I made it to the part where they began talking about movies.  I will watch the part again because I do not take lightly your suggestion that their is some information I may have missed.

Mr. Mosh, I would certainly love to have a link to your website so I can read some of your work.  I like your contributions to the forum and do not share others opinion that you are the epitome of hubris.  Heck, this place should not be called the "coffee house," it should be called the "neighbor tavern." I like personalities and good BS.

However, I must admit that implying Peter Fonda or Dennis Hopper did not know who Dante or Faust were borders on ludicrous.   Were they blasted when the film was made?  Probably...but were they incapable of having a grand vision?  I doubt that. The movie is a snapshot in time.

Read the link, watch the movie.  I look forward to hearing your impressions.

Peace

Jesse

Hey Mr.BodF, I’m glad that I revisited this video.  Except, now I’m really confused.

Mostly I’m confused about where copying ends and originality begins.

Thankfully, according to the reviews I receive on the song forum, my creations are quirky, weird, and way out there.  o I can't imagine anyone would try to sound like me.  Who the hell am I copying? Got to be somebody right?
Ah heck, I don’t know what I’m talking about.

I do believe in the common good though.

So, I will make a deal with the spirits that be.  If one of my songs ever makes it to the top of the charts, whatever in the world that means, I will give any profits that song makes to feeding starving children in Sudan, or Detroit, it doesn’t matter, there’s starving children everywhere.

But, if I ever have another song make it to the top, I’m going to by me a new pair of shoes.

I’ll go to work tomorrow and make some more widgets.

WTH, I’m need to stop taking things so seriously.

Maybe you're just transforming and combining and skipping the copy part

I do agree that things have gotten out of hand on the patent side.  Expending effort to instigate litigation shouldn't be a viable career option.

I came.
I watched.
I copied.
