  • I am Having an Issue with SofTube Console 1 in SONAR

I am mixing and everything is fine. Then for no apparent reason I lose all my mix settings in Console 1 for some channels. My "Kick In" track is always affected by this.

In Console 1 I have Shape, EQ, and Drive engaged with different settings. I go on to adjust other settings on other tracks. In time I notice the kick sounding funny, I check it out and see that all my settings are zeroed out, as though I never did anything on that track.

Before I posted here about it, I tested it out. I even saved a Mix Scene in SONAR. After the tracks (Kick In, some backing Vocal Tracks too) zero out to default, I try to call up a Mix Scene that was saved before this happens, and it does not bring back the settings I had before.

Could this be a corrupt project or something? I have to admit that this is making me late on delivering a mix to a client and I am getting a bit frustrated having to go back and remix parts over and over instead of moving on to finish the mix.

Hi, Charles
Sorry to hear about your problems.
I haven't come across this before. Are you running the latest C1 software version, v. 2.4.17?
You haven't by any chance inadvertently grouped some tracks in C1, making this happen?
If I come across anything like this, I'll let you know.

A little off topic, but I hope you save C1 presets, making the "re-mixing" easier
All the best.

No, I do not have any tracks in groups. Yes, I am running 2.4.17.
I'll keep researching....

I wonder if it has something to do with my FaderPort. That was what caused weird behavior in the past.

You could try disconnecting it and see if it makes a difference.
Are you on Win 10, by the way?
I had to tweak some stuff after the latest update, incl HD Audio, and Nvidia Audio device.

It made my system a little unstable, until I made those changes.

Yes, I am in Windows 10. Where can I find a list of the changes you made?

I just went to Device Manager, and found them re installed, and re activated.

Thanks. I unplugged my FaderPort and so far so good. But I have to leave to take my son to school and go to my other job. Tonight and tomorrow I have an off-site video client. Also on Saturday I am shooting (video-shooting) my oldest son proposing to his girlfriend and Sunday I have a birthday party to shoot. So I may not get back to the studio until Sunday night to test further. But I have a suspicion it is something to do with the FaderPort again.

Maybe it's time to ditch the FaderPort and move to something else. Perhaps a Behringer X-Touch? I don't know. But if unplugging the FaderPort solves this problem, I will be highly motivated to finally part ways with it. I am open to suggestions for sure...

I'm still using an old Tascam FW 1884, in Win 10, X64, SONAR Platinum (latest) with my RME, without any issues
When it dies, I'll try to get a Behringer X-touch. Haven't heard any horror stories about it either.
