I wrote this song some time back. "I Was Struck By Lightning" may be just a song that relates to the people that are in to history. I wrote "I Was Struck By Lightning" after reading a book about Harry Truman. Harry said there must have been a million men that could have been president, but he was the one "Struck By Lightning. When Harry first made it to the white house, after FDR passed, Harry asked FDR's wife (the first lady leaving) if there was any thing he could do for her. Her reply to Truman was that she should be the one asking that question of him, since he was the one in trouble now. There has always been and always will be the question about him dropping the big bomb two times.

I posted a pass song of mine about Nixon as well. I like to think that they go together.

Please let me know what you think about every think

Sounds very thin here like the bottom end just does not exist.

Sorry could be furry ear problems.

Terry, since I've been coming to this forum your productions have steadily gotten better, and this may be your best one yet.  I like the way you processed your vocals and the stereo spread of the mix.  I'm always interested in what inspires a song, and this story is a good one.  The only thing that caught my attention was the background synth being somewhat soft in the mix.  The rest sounds terrific.  As always, your sound is unique!

From what I've read of Harry, he was put there by others who like how malleable he was. I often wonder how things would have transpired had Wallace not been forced out of the vice presidency in favor of Truman.

Great song! it reminds me of the 1960s. I keep thinking Neil Sedaka. Well done!

Has your distinctive pop sound, Terry.  Enjoyable tune!  Well done.

I imagine this isn't exactly what you're going for, but I figured I'd mention that something in your vocal is reminding me of... wait for it... Frank Black, of the Pixies.  They're quite a bit darker than your stuff, but quite awesome, IMHO. :)

Hi Terry,

Nice job on the song.  I like your vocal.  Arrangement is good but needs some bass and kick as mentioned above.  I like your radio format mix though.

Having read the other replies I had to go and have another listen to see if I was missing something.  The only thing I could find was that both links seem to be the same or have I truly gone over the edge?????

I know I have been mad for <insert your choice of word> years but now I am beginning to question just how mad I really am.
