Yes and No.

For a simple country song yes the bass will be fine.
A jazz song I would say yes again.
If you're looking for something unique, a special riff, I would say no.

If you are a guitarist/bassist I would say play it yourself.

Cheers.

Do you think the programme leads you or can you sort of lead it? I'm more interested in the latter. Trying to strike a balance between my own ideas and getting help with parts that don't come naturally.

Guitar Pro is another "kind of" alternative to this...not as extensive,
but also half the price...the XL version is on sale at JRRShop for $47.99

Kind of the "In between" of ChordPulse and BIAB

@ good looking dude

BIAB takes you where it wants to go, not the other way around     :)

If you want your demos to sound like thousands of other songs it does a nice job; but you will not be breaking any new ground if you use it.  The quality is pretty good (I have the audiophile version);  If anyone is interested the audiophile version sounds a little brighter (nothing drastic but noticeable) than the regular version.

Food for thought.

I was kind of brought up the traditional set of chord progressions and melodies. Tempting.

I have BIAB Mega 2013 but never clicked with it. I will give it another try; Groove3 now has BIAB Windows training courses! :)

What I'm really looking for is a chord progression tool. For example, say I come up with an interesting riff that goes A/G. I want options of where to go next... Would love to just put in those two chords, and get a dozen suggestions and just be able to click each to hear examples.

I can't recommend AGAINST Guitar Pro strongly enough.  Hasn't been updated in ages.  Buggy.  Unresponsive support.  Other than all of that, it's kind of OK.

For nothing you can get MuseScore ...

I ran the demo here on Win 10 without issues and all seemed to work fine...
of course I didn't go "in depth"...

According to PGMusic BiaB runs just fine in Win 10.
