Help! Last Saturday (and every day thereafter) I got this message when trying to open Sonar Platinum: "SONARPLT.exe has stopped working." I reinstalled Sonar Platinum, but still got the same message. While that message is displayed, a box is displayed for a moment on the lower right of my screen with this info: "ASIO4All.v2-SONAR.PLT 512 Samples 44.1mhz". That's it, and I have no idea of how to fix the problem - I can't opened the program.

Yes, I have an email request pending with Tech Services; it's now four days old, and the phone tech service is booked up. I'd like to work on my open projects, but can't.

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions on how I might troubleshoot this problem

 Thanks,
Reynold

The experts will show up here eventually, but I suspect it's related to that ASIO4All driver.  What audio interface are you using?

I know your signature says "up to date", but what version of Sonar are you running and what is your audio interface ?
could be a number of things. I do suspect ASIO4ALL  (possible driver conflict.)
but that might not be the case at all. the pop you see is just telling you sonar dropped the driver (ASIO4ALL) upon crash.

I'm using Sonar Platinum version: 22.7.0.41. At the time this happened I was trying out a new ART TConnect USB guitar 1/4inch-USB cord. I had set the audio input to the asio4all driver but got not sound from my speakers.

okay well you cant use both your audio interface (still don't know what that is yet) drivers + ASIO4ALL at the same time, hence the "driver conflict I spoke of earlier.
if you uninstall ASIO4ALL and just use your interface soundcard drivers you should be back up and running.

I kept getting this error with Windows 10. I tried 7 times, but I'm back to Win 7 again.
This is a real issue.

Hi Chuck, thanks for your help.
I have uninstalled ASIO4All, but I'm still getting the same message "...stopped working" message. Since I can't open Sonar, I have no way of changing the drivers preference (if that makes sense).

Do you have an audio interface, or are you using the built in sound card on a laptop or desktop?

my thoughts exactly,
this would really help the situation if he just gave us more information.
I believe I've already asked once and referenced another time...
what are you using for an audio interface ?

Sorry for the confusion. I'm using a Dell XPS desktop computer running W10. with the built-in Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card. Does that help?
