Very nice.  Had a nice analog feel to many of the pads - the begining sorta Trangerine Dream (all those are good things).  Very floating and seamless.
 
I'd love to hear some crashing guitar against this sort of soundscape.  Tasteful crashing guitar, of course.

Love the build up and the textures. I agree that a melody should probably come sooner than it does, but this is a very pretty piece.

I love this work.  I think you reached you goals quite well.  When I hear something like this, I want to try it myself.  That makes for an inspirational work!

Well, as to finding a guitar player there are  many on this forum, myself included. I am just creating movie music for the past year or so because I spent so much money on loops and samples, that it would be stupid of me not to use them and get my moneys worth. I do play guitar at home almost everyday for about an hour and have friends to play guitar with at times too. I just don't do any recording right now because of all the other things I do as well, like my art and photography. It is a busy life for me, plus I work construction with a friend from time to time. But, as to your piece, I can understand the ambient atmosphere your working with and that's cool. I wasn't suggesting a orchestral movie score but a few more ambient tricks up your sleeve for an added touch.

Wow, very nice ambient piece here!  I disagree with some of the comments above regarding the melody.  I think it's perfectly understated and progresses perfectly for this style.  Mix is nice as well.  I'm listening to The Sound of Snow now, and it's another gorgeous piece of work.  Consider me a fan.
