If you had $125+  to use.... either the verbs or the Boz stuff?   tough choice.   I don't have a lot of other plugs...just the standard Cake stuff with all the ProChannel stuff CAKE has put out.

Valhalla..even stock with Sonar there's an ample supply of EQ's...

But if you want quality reverb for cheap...Valhalla all the way...

You'd be doing fine if ValhallaRoom was your only reverb. Others will prefer ValhallaVintageVerb. IMO VVV is more colorful and therefore not quite as all-purpose as VRoom, which can be transparent, smooth or over-the-top and in-yer-face, whatever you want.

For a hundred bucks I'd suggest either VRoom + VVV, or VRoom + VPlate. Or just VRoom and save the other fifty for the new Star Wars movie.

I think EQ is more important than reverb and the Hoser has mid/side capability and is usable in prochannel. Plus you get the earlier boz stuff. As far as reverbs- breverb and rematrix come up for sale from the Sonar prochannel versions every now and then and are just as good as Valhalla.

I have both Rematrix and Breverb that comes with Sonar Platinum..plus Sonitus, my old Lexicon Pantheon, Perfect space and a freebie or two.  I've been playing with the demos of Valhalla, and although nice, in a mix I'm not hearing enough of a difference to pull the trigger...  maybe my ears??  But solo...yes they are nice, especially on percussive stuff.  I passed on the +10dB stuff when it first came out for the same reasons.  I'm not hearing a big enough difference to spend the $$, that I "think" will improve what I've been doing.  I don't know....these plugs make it so easy to think you "need" them nowadays, because the are SO good.

I completely hear that mxmkr...

We are inundated with "goodies", to the point of not using what
we have...seeking the "Holy Grail" of plugins...

I'd just hold out and see what BF brings...and if you find a bargain
that works for you, jump on it then...

Check out 2caudio breeze and aether reverb. There are demos. And they have been doing 50% off sale during december. Aether accordinf to some reviews is the best algo reverb. Breeze is the smaller brother which is more affordable. I had compared breeze with valhala reverb demo side by side and breeze wins by a mile. At least according to my ears.

mixmkr - this doesn't answer your either or question.

But I'll put another idea on the table. I'd introduced a thread earlier in the year on how to spend $100 in a very wow way.

You might consider reading that just for another set of thoughts to ponder. I stand by my suggestion in that opening thread comment.

By the way, one Valhalla would get you a long way without needing more of them.

musichoo's right: aether is truly outstanding and has more features than Valhalla (e.g. M/S modes and gobs more presets).

But - for the price ($250) you could get the entire Valhalla reverb collection. And still have enough left over to go see Star Wars. Depends how big the "+" is in your stated budget of "$125+".

I was hot for the Full Rematrix at $99 a few months ago. I think V Room and V Plate would be a better purchase for me. I have a bunch of the "standard" verbs and really like Eos and Toraverb, mostly cuz they're just not like everything else. With Valhalla's they are most likely not going to be on sale so waiting for BF is the way to go. If I have money left over (that made me laugh) the V reverbs will still be there. Though I have wanted to get a "crazy" verb like Black Hole or the like, I am leaning more toward UVI's Relayer, is that the name? From what  I saw, that could do what I wanted and then some. But sale prices and BOGO's come into play, so... I hope BF is at least not boring. I hope no one tries throwing their standard sale at us and saying its a big deal. People on these Forums are way too smart to fall for that. Though Native Instruments standard 50% off is always pretty good. I have bought things at 50% and sold them a year or so latter when I upgraded Komplete for about the same, so I might just "rent something for a while again.
