mixmkr - this doesn't answer your either or question.

But I'll put another idea on the table. I'd introduced a thread earlier in the year on how to spend $100 in a very wow way.

You might consider reading that just for another set of thoughts to ponder. I stand by my suggestion in that opening thread comment.

By the way, one Valhalla would get you a long way without needing more of them.

LFO Tools is $41.96 at JRRShop with code GROUP

Thanks for pointing that out Larry. You're awesome of course.

mixmkr - I was responding more to answer your deliberation of "is there a difference" or "if I spend the money, is it worth it? Anything noticeable?"

First of all, the included Sonar options for EQ and reverb can really satisfy a lot. At least you already have those capabilities covered.

Just thinking of the two options you are contemplating (EQ or reverb) versus the included Sonar tools the answer is maybe, it depends... on the other hand, my suggestions in my comment above would give you a resounding YES! - there's a huge difference! "Wow!, what a great use of my limited funds! Hooray!"

So yes, you can get potentially more personally satisfying EQ OR reverb with what you're contemplating (pick one). Or, you could get two tools that would knock your songs into a whole level altogether (get both) for less than what you were thinking about.

It's a suggestion. (See my comment above for more info.)

Yeah, I know Relayer is a delay, and that's a pretty good price. Not good enough this close to BF, though. I have wanted to get Black Hole but I listened to Relayer and thought it might do better for what I wanted. I think it might be hard to hang onto my stash for 6 more days. The Valhalla Plate release sure is a monkey in the wrench.

some great suggestions...much appreciated.  I played with the Boz Hoser demo a lot last night and it convinced me that I don't need to spend that kind of money on in. Not that it isn't very good, but my ears aren't justifying it over the Quad Curve in the ProChannel and even the LP64, which I don't really use, since the QC is so easy in the PC.  Lawajava's suggestions are much better as well, with the LFO, etc. Those look like good times!   I'll check the other reverbs too, but I've been using the ValahallaRoom demo a lot as well, so that may need to stay..... but I'm still not 100% convinced my recordings and wallet will both be happier.

Between those I would pick...
A Valhalla of my choice (You can't go wrong with any of them).
Everything Klanghelm has or Everything Tokyo Dawn has.
Mid/Side is a very nice feature (I'm still surprised they haven't added it to the quad curve) for final mix or mastering. A capable cheap one is the Toneboosters EQ.

Mid/side processing on an EQ is one of those things you don't think you'd use much until you try it. I have the Softube "Passive EQ" and find myself using the mid/side option all the time. It's especially useful when you have something like a stereo bounce of lead vocals plus panned harmonies, and you don't have access to the individual tracks. I would LOVE to see the Quadcurve get a mid/side option in the future.

Sharke...I think you're right about M/S.  I haven't used in much in the past, but this may convince me otherwise.

Here's a vid I just did about the Hoser.  Not all that techy, but hopefully worth watching.
