Hi,
Kinda reminds me of a time when I ran "Heidi Pies" in Santa Barbara and I had two friends (brothers) that were hardcore diabetics and one day I decided to make a couple of pies without sugar for Ray and Ollie. Sour Cream Blueberry and Sour Cream Cherry ... and it turned out great. Ray looked at the Blueberry Pie and asked ... No sugar? ... and he blew his face into the pie!
The next day I made 6 sugarless Sour Cream Blueberry Pie, and my manager was not happy and said it would never sell ... and they were gone an hour later ... but the SOB wouldn't let me make any more, even for Ray and Ollie!
It can be done ... and the same thing for the turkey, dressing and all else ... you just have to be clever and know how to mix things up, and keeping a balance of some sort ... for example ... you have to counter the sourness sometime, or the sweetness ... but it can be done naturally without adding pounds of sugar or whatever ... heck, I make vegetarian omelettes, and some folks look at it, and won't even touch it ... it kinda puts the "vegan" BS in perspective sometimes ... it's not the food ... it's the person behind it that makes it all more stupid than it really is!
I would think that one can still eat the salad, peas and onions and the yams on a conventional Thanksgiving table ... even the Cranberry Sauce.
