It must be broke because it quit not working right 

Sometimes I hate tech stuff.  Reaper has quit seeing my MPD26.  Sometimes I want to throw all of this stuff away and get a set of sticks and hollow logs ...

I have no idea how/why, but the MPD is now playing nicely with Sonar and R.

I'm ashamed to say that I bought this thing over a year ago during a discount sale at a Big Box gear seller.  I got it, plugged it in and fiddled for about 15 minutes.  It wasn't plug/play so it went on a shelf with a lint free towel over it to keep dust out.
 
Now, after too many hours futzing about with config apps and DAW setups, the transport controls, sliders, knobs and pads are now useful.
 
Breaking Bad was, IMO, the best written, cast, performed series of all time.  But then The Darkness is where it's at
