Yeah posting another tune before its time.... but finishing this one is going to be hard.  Lyrics surround a young man in my area who died violently at the hands of a friend over a girl.  A jealous murder. Lyrics won't cover that information, but rather from the perspective of a mom who has just lost a beautiful son and also from the son speaking back to his mother.  So as you can imagine the lyrics are tough to write.  My oldest son knew this young man.  He was a seriously good kid.

Here's the tune: http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12550620

I love the ending....

Cheers,

I really like the melody and some very tasty guitar work. Nice change around the 2:30 mark. I like how the guitar refrains and keeps to the feel of the pianos. Great job, love it!

I like this, but how much compression is on this mix? Sounds like a lot to me, but maybe that's what you were looking for. I this you could take some off, especially if your going to put vocals to this. Very dynamic sound for sure. Be interesting to hear the final work. Sure glad I don't have to write lyrics to this, what a said story line.

Peace and Blessings, John

Not much compression actually. The Master is a mild compression preset from CW that I like. Other than that, I can tell you I am quite compression ignant.

First of all, sorry to hear about such a tragedy, Roger.

The song sounds pretty good so far.  The drums could probably come up a bit I think, especially when the guitar is playing.  And/or maybe the guitar should come down a little.  Also, the song seems a bit long, but maybe some vocals will help there.  I guess everything after 6:00 is the "heavenly" epilog?  That bit sounds nice and airy.  Fitting.

This is a great start to an epic song.  Good luck with the lyrics. ;)

The mix volumes and length may change with vocals placed. Length is a concern but vocals will fill in most. All great feedback CW friends!
