Sorry AzSlow. Your Azslow Faderport settings don't work for me. :-(  I've tried everything.

Probably not everything
If Faderport is enabled in the MIDI preferences and AZ Controller's Input/Output are set correctly in the Control Surfaces preferences, AZ Controller "always works"...

Look at "Last MIDI event" section of AZ Controller configuration window while pressing some button, let say "Play".
a) If you do not see any changes there, your MIDI settings are incorrect.
b) If you see some message (which?) but you do not see "Play" at the right of it,  your FaderPort is in other "mode".
In the documentation, section 2.2.4 (for LIVE! Setup), there is an instruction how to change modes. I do not know for which mode I have written the preset, probably native, and I do not know how many time and which buttons you should press in the mode changing state to get it. But there are not many combinations.

The configuration is based on information from other users, I do not have Faderport and there is no official MIDI documentation for it.

Hi Azslow3.   I was so frustrated with Sonar and the FaderPort not functioning and reading that it worked for everyone that I re-installed WIN7 and Sonar and the FaderPort works like a charm now after installing the AZ controllers. :-)   Thanks again for responding and for developing the controllers.

I am about to buy PreSonus FaderPort. I try to find if I can assign CC11 to the fader. I am working with several libraries in Sonar Platinum and I would like to control Expression with the fader. Anyone knows if it is possible, or fader can only control the Volume? I know in FaderPort 8 I can assign any controller to any fader.
Thank you

I could not find any MIDI documentation for FaderPort. My guess it has several fixed configurations. You can control anything with it when the target is defined inside plug-in, but you can not directly send arbitrary CC from Fader to MIDI track. But you can use some extern MIDI translator or AZ Controller with external MIDI loop to do this.

At the risk of sounding really stupid, is this for the original Faderport, or Faderport 8, or does it matter?  Thanks.  (I just got a Faderport 8 and am not happy with its Sonar functionality at all.)

For original (one strip).
It is possible to configure AZ Controller for Faderport 8, but that is not done and I have no such plans.
From pictures, its price/functionality ratio is questionable. I mean only one encoder, no jogger... But faders should be good (hi resolution).

Cannot get to work in bus pane.  Never could.

In the latest version that functionality is improved. It is switching between Buses/Tracks automatically once you change focus by mouse (had to be manually switched with "Output" button before).

PS. AlphaTrack preset development in progress.

+1 for alphatrack here also.

Trying to get Faderport working using the AZ Controller.  The motorized fader and the pan knob work, the buttons don't.  The Faderport seems to follow SPlat, though.  If I press Play in Sonar the Faderport's Play button illuminates.

I also have Mixbus4 and the Faderport buttons work in that DAW.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong in SPlat.  In Midi Devices I selected Faderport In/Out.  In Control Surfaces I added AZ Controller with I/O set to Faderport.  I Tweaked the current configuration and set that to Faderport and Saved it as Preset FaderPort.

In the AZ Controller window the 'Enabled control groups' ABCD are checked and in 'Last control actions' moving the Faderport fader or the pan knob registers.  Pressing a button doesn't register.

The Read button on the Faderport is lit.

Originally I tried getting the Faderport to work with the Faderport controller.

I'll keep at it.  Appreciate any suggestions.

In Sonar preferences, MIDI / Playback and recording, make sure "Key Aftertouch" is enabled (checked).

That did it.  Thank you!
