Used to be a loyal bottom feeder with Play. Free samples and teasers. You got maybe 6 or so instruments that worked with the freebie.

With the new updates over the last couple years, I don't get nothing unless the plastic card is fired up. Are the free teasers gone or is it maybe my system that can't install them? (Win XP 32 bit, hard drive renamed to G: after a catastrophic crash)

I was on the East West Bandwagon when it belonged to Native Instruments,
and used Kompakt...and still have the Kompakt version of EastWest Symphonic
Orchestra Silver...and it STILL works, even on Win 10!!!

Ya I still use Colossus imported in to Kontakt 5. EastWest knows how to make some great sounding samples, but their programmers suck and their CEO is so convinced they are amazing that he won't change anything around. I bought my Play upgrades back when they came out and waited patiently for promised fixes and improvement. Finally after years, I'd had it and switched over to Kontakt and other libraries which has worked great. I don't even have Play installed on this system build, just not worth the headache :P.

No kidding. I remember when they called it "Play 2" which, as one might expect, means that Play 1 was current then. Then I remember them actually putting it on sale for a time for preorder... that was about, I dunno 6 years ago at least. Since then? Nothing.

I just got tired of it. With Play I always felt like I was walking on eggshells and had to bounce individual tracks as soon as they were ready, then immediately check for glitches. With Kontakt I just do whatever I want, don't bounch anything, and render the final project when ready.
