ProChannel should not introduce unwanted artifacts unless it is overdriven. Can overamp any eq especially midrange and get dirt, more distortion, clipping, overdrive as an artifact from Sonar being pressed beyond what it was supposed to do. Not the fault of the eq, and any DAW will crap out in the extreme, so not the fault of the DAW either..

Still stand by an incredible gem in the eq arsenal. Use it more for pre processing than on the output end, but doesn't get much better than this IMHO. Free offering for the taking. Resurrecting the dark force "R" word.  ReaEQ is in there with the installation suite and should be in the tool kit  of every digital musician. Get it here:

Cannot argue about the price, regardless of what is politically correct about "R".

I was also wondering about these artifacts. Also, doesn't the QCurveEQ have a spectrum analyser?

Agreed. Quad Curve EQ is extremely clean and versatile. And it does have a spectrum analyzer.  It does not have M/S processing. That much is true.

Maybe the artifact is the echo inside my empty skull :)

I will go through all my settings again and confirm I don't have another effect later/before that is interfering. But I will try to document what I consider an artifact, and maybe I'm misunderstanding something.

Thanks for all helpful suggestions, links and comments.

Actually, It has been over 12 months, which is a little more than 'Just severed' to me, ymmv
Don't have an issue with the Waves Licensing, never have

Text doesn't translate well to the spoken word. "Just severed" doesn't mean it happened yesterday (it's been over 2 years). It means they "merely" severed their relationship with Pace and "just" substituted another, equally fragile system of their own design.

Good that you haven't had problems with Waves licensing. Trust me, many others have, including yours truly. I don't do Waves anymore as a result.

glad you don't have a problem with their licensing.

I guess i've not used their proprietary licensing since I thought it was Pace i used on my USB stick, but regardless...they lost a customer just from that experience, so I was never interested in jumping through their hoops to get Pace or any other licensing working again.

While my iLok manager occasionally decides not to load on startup...frustrating...I've never had problem one with WAVES license manager. YMMV.

@yorolpal:
(Sorry to go off off topic but this may help yorolpal)
Concerning ILok. I had that problem and this fixed it (see below).
There may be something else running at startup like windows update or graphics driver update.
This causes the ILok license manager to not start properly.
Go to Administrative Tools/Services/ and find "Pace License Services".
Double click or right click and select Properties then change "Startup Type" from "Automatic" to "Automatic (Delayed Startup)".
