It's really not useful if you don't have the hardware for it.

What is usually does is crash a DAW if you didn't run the app and have it take more time scanning your plugins.

You may be right. A cross library/VSTi patch browser is about all it amounts to as far as I can see. But I have not had it crash Sonar Platinum.

It hasn't crashed on me either...and yes, it is just a "one stop shop" to get to all of
your "Komplete" instruments...

That's the thing with propriety. All it is... Is an angle. You could argue the same thing about pro channel. If all the vendors knocked their heads together and cooperated then there may be something useful. But marketeers concentrate on exclusivity...

One of the reasons that the Pro Channel really is "nothing special" is that it's really
just a Primary VST effects bin with a proprietary interface...it's not a "Plugin format"
per se, and the regular FX bin is the Secondary VST fx bin.  You could accomplish the
same thing with a "Primary" and then "Secondary" FX bin without the "always visible interface".

It's just nice to be able to access the interfaces of the plugs (howbeit limited) without having
to "click through" to get to them...but, other then that, it's just a "Proprietary Interface"
sub-routine for VST's...and probably why very few are "jumping on the bandwagon".

But, it is a good "Marketing Mechanism"
