Congrats Bat! I wish you much success with this project. You really do put everything into it. Now at the end, you have to let go. Sounds like you are happy with your work. I too have loved all your demo postings.
Best of luck.

So CDBaby wants to build the ISO image for you from individual song files? Does that mean you can't send them a finished image? Does that mean you can't have a contiguous (gapless) CD?

Nice work!!
I am not sure if I should sell my guitars or send them to you, lol. You surely have the "touch". I hope the album does well for you.

Thanks for that, jimmy!
the final product is definitely a step up from the demos....

mostly, it's the being 'forced' into making final decisions, even if a deadline is self imposed,
that focuses the mind..
it'll be about 3 weeks before i have the discs.

hey bit..

the program they use is created by Sonoris...

it's called "DDP Creator"

here is some info:

The Sonoris DDP Creator is a standalone cross-platform CD authoring application compatible with virtually any DAW software on the market. The DDP Creator lets you assemble professional RedBook compatible audio CD's and supports the import and export of DDP 2.00 images and Cue Sheet (cue) files. It also enables you to burn and rip audio CD's and send off images with FTP.

they make a ISO, IMG disc image of your CD-ROM.....
also, you have the option of uploading directly off of your master cd.....

or, you can mail it in.

with cdbaby, you can sell the physical cds,
or buy digital downloads...
i think the 'digital download' are 320kbps mp3's (or the highest VBR they have)....

but i've been toying with the idea of creating my own MP3's directly from my 24-bit non-dithered masters..
i can do it easily in WAVELAB, and then offer them for free to anyone who buys the cd......

but i don't really know how to go about burning mp3's from 24 bit files WITHOUT dithering....
doesn't it boil down to the fact that i don't need dithering, if i'm not down-sampling for redbook format?

i'll tell you, the masters at 24 bit sound some much more vibrant to me than the typical 16bit-44.1khz cd's.....

Also consider selling them in FLAC format. There are a lot of people now who are actively searching for lossless content (just as there is a market for people who'll snag anything on vinyl). You can do a FLAC export directly from SONAR.

Downloads now available in MP3 320 and FLAC files!

heheh, at least that's what's on the website main page.....

i will also give folks that buy the album 24 bit master files for free, if they want them.
those sound REALLY good.

the difference is so obvious,
i just can't believe there are folks that can't hear it.

you know,
i haven't tried doing FLAC from sonar....
if it can, that'd be nice.

I'm on sonar 6 PE
