well glory be... SoundCloud worked for me this morning, and I was able to listen to your heavy rock tune... I like the 6/8 feel, cool arrangement and performances... well done Tom...

The time signature gave this song a bounce that I don't often associate with this style of music.  It's very clever and creative and well produced.  Good job!

Dear all,

first off, sorry for the last answers, but I found a new toy: Jamstix! What a great plug-in - how come you guys never recommended it to me?

Dear Purple,

thanks for listening and your comment. The 6/4 tme signature is a pretty big step for me out of my comfort zone, for I usually write fast (punk) rock songs. AND it's half-time. AND a shuffle! Boy, I feel like Columbus!

Dear Daniel aka Noisy Neighbour,

cool dass du den Text verstehst! I agree that the words get buried sometimes, but not that much, so I guess I leave it as it is. With the snare, it is a different thing:
Due to a computer crash, I had this drum track only with one single wav-file, no chance to eq the snare seperately...After the crash, I had two choices: recreate the freaking beat bar by bar with the midi files - or just work with what I got. I chosed the latter...

Dear Tanton,

thanks for giving it a second try, even after soundcloud did not let you with the first try! I can see that you are saying that the beat is a 6/8 time signature - I guess you are right, I always sucked at these things. So 6/8 it is!

Dear Lynn,

thanks a lot! That you call my stuff "creative" and "clever" makes me proud! This will inspire me to try out things out of my box. Greetings from one Wilson to another!

Hello, Thomas,

Fantastic job on this very cool modern alternative rocker!

I love the well textured, thick wall of deep sounding guitars, the vocals are excellent (although I don't speak German), and the bass and drums sound outstanding.

I'm on my third listen, great songwriting, playing and singing, and the mix sounds clear, full and very professional.

Dynamite song, Thomas, great work, my friend!
Bob

I listened again, and it was actually only the word "langsam..." in the chorus I didn't get the first time.
Otherwise the mix sounds great! Don't worry about the snare (sorry to hear about the crash, though...) I guess it's just a matter of taste.
I sure like your style! If I should get to the city of applewoi, I'd definitely try to check out one of your gigs.

Tschö ; )

It so reminds me of something and I can't.....WAIT David Bowie.  That's a compliment!  Very well recorded by my ears.  I was trying to count with the time signature and I didn't get it till after the little break.  Well done!

Dear Bob,

thanks a lot! It is very flattering to hear this from PA's finest! Cool to know that you have open ears for new stuff, although you are rooted in classic rock. I guess we have this in common!

Dear Clean,

thanks for your comment! I take pride in the fact that a Pugtone listens to my stuff!
Dear Lee,

I really appreciate your comment. As you may be aware, I am really always looking forward to your stuff, so when you post something new, I make sure to check this out asap! And I take the "bad ass way" as a compliment!

Dear Daniel,

the crash was tough, all was gone...but at least I have not progressed too much at that point, so not that much time was wasted. In a certain way it was liberating, for I had not to worry about any fine eqing etc about the drums. I just had to work with what I got. If you hit Frankfurt, make sure to tell me, we can jam at our rehearsal room!

Dear Wookiee,

I am glad it pleased your furry ears!

Dear Evadianepug aka Warren,

you must be out of your mind - David Bowie? I'M NOT WORTHY! Man, to even be associated with David Bowie - THE MAN - is beyond description! But thanks, thanks man, I am very proud to get this nice comment from you!

To all of you here at the Cakewalk Song Forum:

I must say that I am pretty much blown away from you. I mean, this is a crooked, strange piece of music - even my own band looked at me like "do we really have to play this?" when I played this to them...

you guys have a certain quality that is rare these days: you actually listen. you love to listen to music and are open to any shape it may come to you.

I received listens and nice comments from Electronica artists like Walt Collins, Alternative rockers like Lee, Country/ Rock'n'roll-artists like the Pugtones or Notnat etc etc - where else can you meet this combination of open ears and expertise? YOU GUYS ROCK! Thank you!
