And, over two years after the actual injury, having exhausted the less invasive options, my lovely lady underwent surgery for hip labral tear yesterday.
And so now I get to play nurse. :)
The good news is that she's off for six months, so we get to spend more time together and to start working on our various musical projects.
But before we get to that, there is a lot of treatment required - all around, we are looking at practically six hours a day of physiotherapy, exercises, having her leg strapped into a contraption which raises it at an angle, and similar fun activities. That and having to sleep on her back with her feet kept at an appropriate angle by those funny foam boots.
And crutches, obviously.
For the time being, it goes w/o saying that she's quite incapacitated, but the operation went absolutely fine and she should be recovering nicely.
She's also very courageous - for me, the simple thought of being strapped to a machine for hours every day or not being able to move around the house as I want would be a nightmare.
Even just those foam boots - I get claustrophobic thinking about it (foot claustrophobia, I wonder if there's anything about that on Web MD...)
