My so called smart blu-ray sucks for streaming. We like Netflix, Plex, YouTube and Vudu. What do you guys use and prefer?

Hi, Clint,

I’ve really enjoyed my Roku 2 for the past 4 or 5 years, and there are like a gazillion channels included.  They also just released a Roku 4 for Super Hi-def 4k video.

Here’s a great non-biased source for a lot of good info, hope it helps you out!

Have a good one!

I have 2 Rokus ( a 2 and a 3 ) after suffering SMART Blu-Ray wonkiness.  These things are rock solid and I'm on rural internet speeds.  The BR player would constantly "rebuffer".

Not so with Roku.  I can't recommend highly enough

Thanks to both Bob's! Roku is the way I was leaning. I'm not sure if I should get the stick or the 3, but Roku is probably the way I'm going to go. My daughter has the Fire Stick and it seems to work well.

Mine are both non-stick boxes.  My house is wired gigabit ...

I'm about to get rid of cable. I watch like 8 of the 250 channels. The Roku stick is what I'll buy first for the bedroom and maybe the 3 for the living room. I believe the Roku 4 may be more than my TV can provide. Thanks for the input. It seems that Roku is the winner!

If you use a universal remote that uses IR and not Bluetooth or WiFi, be careful to buy a streaming device that can respond to IR control.  Roku does, many other do not.  I'm quite happy with my earlier generation Roku I purchased just recently.  I could care less about voice control and the like.  I paid about 70 bucks for the Roku and thought it worth the money.

Hi,

Haven't been streaming a lot yet on these things, but will be looking at them in the future, I'm sure.

this is exactly my situation!  I'm switching over to the smart blue ray player now, but I'd like to have a roku for the bedroom.  I might consider another roku for the living room tv instead of the blue ray player, but we'll see how the roku does on the bedroom tv first.

goodbye ATT uverse TV with 250 channels that I don't watch! :D
