Yeah, Jeff Lynn is a genius really. I love the Wilburys stuff (being a huge George Harrison fan), but he over cooks it a bit sometimes. I hope you take what I said the way I meant it and not negatively. I should probably listen to this on my studio speakers and not on this laptop. What I was hearing sounded like a chorus or phaser type of an effect....it may not even be there! Hahahaha. I did really like your song that had the part by Imogen Heap in it. That was cool.

Thanks again Clint... I'm hip to the Lynne genius thing... my ol' friend JR Adkins was Roy Orbison's guitar player in the 60's... He & Roy stayed in close touch, and JR said, Roy often raved about Jeff, Bob & George and the Wilburys' project...  then Roy died... and less than a year later JR died...
Anyway, back to the track... I did a lot of pitch/timing correction, and I'm hearing the weardness too... good ears Clint...  vocals are a bit overprocessed...
I'm glad you liked the Imogen project... I think I still have her full vocal version up, on one of my SoundClick pages...    I'm a fan of your music...  please keep playing/producing, and bigtime thanks for the feedback...

The lyrics are neither profound or stupid... but they are very commercial and this is what you would call a money song with the masses. I like if just fine, it is catchy and very likeable. Daryl

Thanks Daryl... that's exactly what I was going for...

I think it's catchy and I like it, even the lyrics. It does sound processed, but if it were live with all the musicians ... nice song.
Great dobro!!!

"glad you love the tune, Robby... that's an old picture, taken before my beard turned white...
I wrote a Cajun style song a few years ago for a friend's party, and never recorded it... maybe it's time... "

Bring it... You have the skills personally on many instruments, and the mix, and seem to be well connected with other musicians, i.e., fiddle, and you could do the accordion on the keys. Cajun is an old raw old style of music that touches me personally and I'm sure others as well. And it is well suited to your style.

The fiddle, accordion, some yelping, the guitars, etc... Doesn't really need drums? But they are not ruled out. (a tamborine maybe?) "Someone playing a washboard on their chest with thimbles on their fingers..."

Hi Frank ,  "I don't know if you're serious, but I think that's a great Idea"    I am serious, the tune sounds cajun to me, except the vocals.
Rik

I may re-sing it a some point... I've kinda lost interest in it for now though... Thanks again.
Robby's got me thinkin maybe I should  finish an older Cajun tune I wrote a while back...

Love the silly sentiment - it's a great fun song. Enjoyed it immensely!

Cheers,
Terry.

Love the arrangement and playing.  I would rewrite the lyrics and make it as meaningful as the music.  How about writing about how much you do love her?  The song is so upbeat and fun.  Tell us you love her more... :)

Great job on your song.  I especially like the dobro and piano playing :-)
I like your vocal harmonies also.  It sounds somewhat like the kinds of harmonies that Steve Miller used on a lot of his songs.
