Hi Walt

Up until recently I owned the following Arturia Synths, which I had purchased individually,
Modular V 2, ARP 2600V 2, CS80V 2, Prophet V 2, and the Analog Lab.
Actually the Prophet V came with the CS80 V on a buy 1 get one free deal.

Then earlier this year Arturia made me an offer I could not refuse which was the V Collection for a very silly price, less than half full price, which added.

Oberheim SEM V, the Jupiter 8V2, the Mini V, the Spark VDM, the Wurlitzer V and the Analog laboratory.  If you can stretch to the V-Collection I would highly recommend it.  The Analogue Laboratory and the Analog Lab allow you to layer two of the synths which can result in some very amazing sounds.

Thanks again John.  I fear I've hijacked your "song" thread and made it into a "gear" thread.  I will send you a PM to continue this chat privately.  And now to return this to being a "song" thread...

I see you posted a new version of the old version of Butterflies.  I think this is the best of all!  I love Rik's lead work over the top of the synths.  I love the deep reverb on his guitar as well.  A fantastic collaboration!!

Hey Rik, it seems the people on this board are not as enthusiastic about ambient/electronic music as they are about pop/rock and folk songs.  But there are a few of us around who dig it.  I, for one, really enjoyed your work!  And there are a few other lurkers that pop out from time to time.  They'll be by to listen soon I'm sure. :)

Love what Rik did with the new version... very nice...

I like the original '06 version best with the synth bass... sounds like my old ARP Odyssey...
Love the arpeggios at 1:45...
I also like what Rik did on that but, I wouldn't bring in his part until after the 1st chorus, and mixed a little more back...
This is eery nice to listen to this morning...
Some day, I may post some of my synth mixes from the mid '70s, but all I have left was mixed down to cassettes and don't know if they even play any more... I know my tape deck doesn't...   Great work guys...
