clintmartin...and T-Racks 4 will be here soon. I bet before Christmas.

It already is.  T-RackS 5 would be the next major version. :)

Peter,

Thanks for your presence here and getting information to us about the new Amp 4 software. If Amp 4 is anywhere near Amp 2, excited to dive in (have Amp 3 as well).

I'm still confused about what is included. Can you clarify this.

My case is poster child simple black and white.

No problem about points and credits. Just straight cash.

No investment for anything through Custom Shop.

Either there is no information on included racks and stomps in Amp 4, or there are none.

I understand that CS purchases will migrate forward, but what is there bare bones if you dropped in with no history. Looks like loyal supporters are at the same level as complete newcomers.

Amp 3 had a generous assortment of stomps and rack effects included native. No mention of anything included in Amp 4.

Forgive my ignorance if I missed a link that shows all the included effects beyond the 5 new amps and the acoustic stomp.

John...Peter said you can migrate/restore all A3 or other stuff into A4...see last page.

I also take it to read that A4 doesn't come with the scores of things earlier versons did...of course it's cheaper!

So in a sense they ARE taking care of prior customers while making it cheaper for newbees and they will have to get stuff from custom shop...

Kinda like ala carte cable we've been wanting forever.

Thanks Vastman,

Still a bit uncertain about the devil in the details. The price is definitely cheaper, but is the migration forward from Amp 3 meaning only for those units purchased in CS. Not the migration of all the native effects in Amp 3. Information is vague about this.

Cautious about purchasing a cheap shell potentially with no stomps and no rack effects until the credit card is opened to regain lost ground.

Best,
John

Definitely everything in AT3 will migrate, whether part of the original AT3 package or add-ons. You'll just restore them in AT4 CS the way you did it in AT3 CS.
On a side note: I guess some people are sorry they didn't jump at the $70 AT3 sale IK was running last month. Kudos to IK for the way us current AT3 users are treated.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
I'm passing on this one because I see things as you do, despite all the 'Peter says yes' comments. It's not that I disbelieve Peter, it's just that the whole thing is open to different subtle interpretations.  For example, this is NOT an upgrade and IK have deliberately avoided using that word.  I don't want A3 and A4 both existing on my system and having to remember which one I need to open up to access the things  I want.  I would have probably shelled out if it meant I would have ended up with Amplitube 3 exactly as I currently have it PLUS the new A4 amps, tuner, etc.

That's exactly the kind of clarity we need from either IK or here in the forum from Peter.

So after deciding I would load up the free stuff as Clint suggested, then now reading the latest in the ongoing saga of what is and what is not in Amplitube 4, I'm just too confused to bother! I shall load the free Tracks thing and see what happens with that -  I think then wait and see re the rest!!
Cheers

Having clear answers to these questions would be nice, but wouldn't it be better to be able to demo the thing so you can see for yourself whether it works as you expect?  Buying anything without demoing it first is always risky.  You never know for sure whether the product meets your needs without issues until you try it on your own system.

A lot of customers requested this for the Mesa collection -- a demo before the intro price expired.  IK was kind enough to oblige.  Perhaps the same thing could be done with A4.

Cheers,
Eddie
