Guys,

Thanks for the info. Agree that the best case scenario would be to load A4 and have all and everything from A3 there, plus the new amps, cab management and the single stomp. A3 is a nice unit. Like Skyline said, it would be a drag having to bounce between two units to get everything.

Maybe the fine print is in A4 not being an upgrade but a separate software. Inexpensive to get in on the ground level, but some serious cash over time to get even the basics. Benefit as mentioned that you could just get what you want and not have many pedals that you never use. If this is the case, I can see the no brainer $99 quickly turning into a $300 what was my brain thinking.

Agree also we need clarification from IK as to what is and is not included, and what can and cannot be migrated from previous versions. If I can migrate all the stomps, racks and presets from A3, will dive in with gratitude and without question. Otherwise, waiting for a demo so see if it will actually be worth the investment over the long haul.

So what I'm getting from this is if I buy A4, I'm going to miss out on a lot of stuff that was included in A3, correct? Which also means a lot of the presets used in Mesa package that required other external amps possibly won't come with A4 as well?

Yes, straight forward answers are kind of needed on these things.

It isn't just me saying it.  The AmpliTube 4 gear pages states what is included:  http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitube4/index.php?pp=at4cs-gear

It also states
AmpliTube 4 can also be expanded with legacy gear from previous versions of AmpliTube via the Custom Shop. Owners of previous versions can restore all purchases and gear with the “restore my gear” feature in the Custom Shop. All told, there’s over 280 pieces of professional-grade gear now available for trial and purchase in the Custom Shop!

The only thing that may not be clear is that the gear every user gets free with the free AmpliTube Custom Shop that is in your account is also there.  That is covered by the "Restore My Gear" part quoted above, as you already have this gear if you have an IK account, but I've stated that since this is basically more free stuff you get in AmpliTube 4 at the end of the day that they add that to the page.

Hope that helps.

Everything you've acquired is fully functional in A4...

Except for all the built-in gear in A3.

If you already have AT3, all of that gear will function in AmpliTube 4.  From http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitube4/index.php?pp=at4cs-gear -
As a standalone software and DAW plug-in, AmpliTube 4 comes with the gear listed. If you currently own a previous version of AmpliTube, you can use the Custom Shop feature to restore all of your gear from Custom Shop purchases and legacy gear.

Alright!! Explain to me in plain English what I would have to pay to get A4! I have 35 credits and 49 Jampoints. What would be the cash outlay for A4?

Also could I just use my credits to get the Wampler Pinnacle or just can use for a percentage off the full price?

Sidroe,

At minimum.

Go to the IK Store. Buy 75 credits apply $22 jam points (max allowed is 30% of purchase price).

Until the 16th you'll get 87 credits (once you log into the Custom Shop, they apply the bonus there). 87 + 35 = 122. You'll use 99 credits for A4. $53 outlay and A4 is yours.

I was in exactly that same boat and that was what I did.

I only answered it correctly because that was what I did (exactly) otherwise I'd probably say the wrong thing.
