Julien,

The "bonus" is the diff between 75 and 87 because of the sale right now.

Thanks.

Use jam points to buy credits...use credits to buy A4.
I agree it's an extremely irritating way to give people a great deal, but it does end up being a great deal.

Ohhhhh.

Thanks. I was getting really irritated trying to figure out how to use both jampoints and gear credits. IK really should make an attempt to make things a bit more clear. I think I get it now. So I have 45 jampoints, I'll see how many credits that will buy me then use the 'bonus" to get more if I need them, then pre-order A4. I'll trust that it will be better. I've learned that it usually isn't good to try to hold on to the past, I'll move along with things.. and I'll like it! Hah!

Thanks!!

When you install A4 you can restore everything you have in A3 to the version 4. You will have everything you have in A3 plus the new amps and features in A4. That is why I said I always uninstall the older version, in this case A3. Then I install the new version, in this case A4. After installing A4, I open custom shop and click on restore my gear. Everything you had in A3 will be restored to A4. Now you will have the new features plus all your gear will be present in A4!
If you choose to, you can install A4 next to A3 and the only things that will be in 4 are the features and new amps. You can continue to use 3 if you wish. The problem with that is you won't be able to use the cool new features in 4 with all your amps and fx in 3. I recommend to get 4, uninstall 3, install 4, go to custom shop and click restore my gear! That way everything is in one program and you can breath new life in to your old gear with the new features! Hope this helped.

Got it done, thanks again. Pre-ordered and have 47 credits left. I used 22 (like Bap said) bought the 75 pack, used 100 credits to buy.
I may buy the 300 pack, then I'll have enough to get ST3 and have credits left... maybe get a Mark III and a Silvertone Twin. I wonder though if the ST3 on the IK site is the "All In" ST3 bundle I've seen. I'll take a closer look.

Thanks again... Clint and Bapu and everyone. I don't feel so ignorant anymore!

JohnKenn, yes, it is still the way you remember it down here! Sometimes better, sometimes worse. I was born and raised here in Macon, Ga and I can tell you if you don't believe in global warming just come spend a summer here in the deep south!

Sidroe,

Remember being woken up in late May by the heat radiating thru the roof. Spent many summers in the deep south, and do believe in global warming. Not for wimps.

Got shifted around thru life and ended up on the Oregon Coast. If it gets over 75 degrees in the dog days of summer, it is baking torture.

Sometimes in the winter the thermometer will dip below a brutal 40 degrees. How do we survive.

Wind another matter. Getting into the yearly winter storm season with rolling storms and 100 mph plus winds, just a little breeze..

It seems that IK have been very careful to not refer to Amplitube 4 as an 'Upgrade'. I have not seen that term used anywhere on their website or marketing efforts concerning Amplitube 4.

As I understand it, Amplitube 4 is a new, separate product, from any previous version of Amplitube. It will install alongside of a previous version, but not replace it. This leads me to suspect that if the previous version is uninstalled, you will run into problems opening projects where the previous version was used.

I'm going to leave my Amplitube 3 installed. I'll install Amplitube 4 when it is released and use the 'Restore My Gear' to import all of my Amplitube 3 and purchased Custom Shop gear.

If my assumption/understanding is correct, I will have access to all of my previous gear from Amplitube 3 available in Amplitube 4, and still maintain compatibility for older projects by leaving Amplitube 3 installed.

This is only my personal understanding of the situation, based on what I've read in other forums on the subject. Peter can correct me if I'm wrong.

Jimeny-Chistmas-On-A-Soda-Cracker!

Sit back...take a breath.

You've all still got plenty of time to have all your questions answered before you actually have to make a purchase.

Chill.

That said...it would be the height of stupidity and hubris for IK to not have all features of A3 migrate forward into A4. Everything you have now should appear and work just as it always has in A3. This is the way every update to Amplitube has been from the get go. IIRC.

If not I'll be the first to grab a torch and pitchfork and help you hunt the bastards down.

Geeze.

But Darin makes a good point... "plug in not found" in old songs... will have to be changed... I'll just keep A3 "in the mix" ... it's not like it takes a butt load of space!
