Vegetable level question to IK is... Does A4 has all the included stomps and racks from A3. If not, is there a mechanism to import stomps, import racks, import settings from A3 into A4.

I would assume that A4 will work just like A3 in that "restore my gear" will load every thing you own regardless of it being purchased directly or through custom shop.IKs posts confirm this for me. (unless I am missing something you have seen to the contrary.)

Importing settings is another question, and a good one. I am hoping A3 and A4 will coexist.

Will A4 load A3 presets??

When you install A4 you can restore everything you have in A3 to the version 4. You will have everything you have in A3 plus the new amps and features in A4. That is why I said I always uninstall the older version, in this case A3. Then I install the new version, in this case A4. After installing A4, I open custom shop and click on restore my gear. Everything you had in A3 will be restored to A4. Now you will have the new features plus all your gear will be present in A4!
If you choose to, you can install A4 next to A3 and the only things that will be in 4 are the features and new amps. You can continue to use 3 if you wish. The problem with that is you won't be able to use the cool new features in 4 with all your amps and fx in 3. I recommend to get 4, uninstall 3, install 4, go to custom shop and click restore my gear! That way everything is in one program and you can breath new life in to your old gear with the new features! Hope this helped.

If you first uninstall A3, then install A4, then 'restore my gear', I understand that will restore the stuff you've previously bought in the Custom Shop but it can't restore all the 'built-in' gear that came with A3 - as you've previously uninstalled it.  Are you happy that this is all now gone?  This is the issue that's puzzling me.

As I understand it, Amplitube 4 will essentially ‘import’ Amplitube 3 into itself. You will not lose Amplitube 3. You will simply use it via Amplitube 4.
The difference is that Amplitube 4 will have a different plug-in ID. If you open a project that expects to find Amplitube 3, it will not automatically load Amplitube 4 in its place if it can’t find Amplitube 3.
My hope is that we’ll be able to export an Amplitube 3 preset and load that preset into Amplitube 4. That will allow an easy way to ‘upgrade’ the project to Amplitube 4.

Darinbad beat me to the punch. In my haste I assumed that you are pretty much finished with older legacy projects that use A3. If you wish to go back to projects that are using A3 you WILL get prompted by Sonar that the plugin has been uninstalled or moved and you have to replace all the tracks in those projects with A4 and probably have to re-mix and re-master. That is because A4 is an all new program and not an upgrade!
BUT, if you are moving on and just concerned with using A4 on all projects from this point forward, you do have the option to install along with 3 so you don't have that problem. If that is the case, simply install 4 and restore gear from Custom Shop and BTW!!!! when I say Restore I mean from the Custom Shop logo on Amplitube 4s right hand corner. Not the standalone version of Custom Shop.
Please forgive me for overlooking the fact that you may want to still use A3 in older projects. I have been around for so long in the business that I tend to think old school. In other words, once an album is finished it goes out as is! There used to NOT be the option of going back and replacing just an amp sound without re-amping or re-recording! What you played thru was on there and after the release there was no turning back. You just had to muddle on until you could afford better gear and instruments.
I thank Darinbad for catching my mistake!!!!

Yep. You got that right Sidroe. Us Old-timers have to start thinking differently. Things are not as they used to be.

Care to comment on Sidroe's suggestions? I've got AT3 and am buying AT4, plus I have 5 expansion libraries and a number of individual ones purchased with credits. I could easily do the "AT3 uninstall first" and swap it for AT4 in my Sonar projects. What is the "IK recommended way"?

Also, you mentioned that T-Racks 4 was "here" and that T-Racks 5 would be next. Does that mean that my T-Racks Grand is  version 4? I think the only processor I'm missing is the new Stealth Limiter.

I would like to be a beta tester! LOL!!!! I'm just going by where the Custom Shop tab is in A3. I figured they would probably leave it there.
