Friends,

Almost a non issue anymore. Pressing the point even if there doesn't need to be a point, and will find out for sure if and when a demo for A4 comes out. Irritation is that IK won't directly black and white answer a simple clarification request. The issue is being avoided or maybe not deemed important. Peter, help us out here... I can only wade through fine print and guess what may or may not come down.

Panties not in a knot, because means about nothing in the light of so may exquisite sims and programs available. Can exist and breate air without A4. Love Amp3 but won't slit my wrists if A4 dumps all the included stomps/racks and I have to buy a replacement one by one from the custom shop.

Peter, black and white question, and a thanks for your response.

I got A3 with a bunch of really fine stomps and racks. I got nothing from the Custom shop.

Will A4 either include or import the native stomps and racks from A3, not CS purchases. Dirt simple question. Would appreciate a yes or no. All is cool either way.

Best,
John

Peter already confirmed that everything in AmpliTube 3 will be restored in AmpliTube 4 once you hit the "Restore My Gear" button.

Fleer,

Thanks for the confirmation if correct. Likely an over reaction on my part not seeing the forest for the trees.

Got stuck with A2, especially the overdrive units. Could get more Hendrix than the Hendrix add on. Have faith that these internal units from the past will be carried forward. If so, A4 is a no brainer.

Peter indeed confirmed this over at KVR and GearSlutz forums. The only thing that's not clear is whether your project settings will still work. But if that's not important, as it isn't for me, you'll be a happy camper when you "restore your gear" in AmpliTube 4 and instantly all 160 (standard) parts of AmpliTube 3 are there for you to play with, as well as any add-ons you may have bought.

Yes.  You use "Restore my gear" in Custom Shop.

Per http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitube4/index.php?pp=at4cs-gear -
Owners of previous versions can restore all purchases and gear with the “restore my gear” feature in the Custom Shop.

If you currently own a previous version of AmpliTube, you can use the Custom Shop feature to restore all of your gear from Custom Shop purchases and legacy gear.

(previous versions being the key part of that, you do USE Custom Shop to restore the gear though)

Bought a bunch of credits so I am on my way. I just contacted Groove3 about doing a new Amplitube4 video. I don't want to be unkind but the Dukes of Hazard Amp3 video didn't do it for me.

BTW, the word upgrade is used in the first paragraph of the page for A4 on the IK website and it does say upgrade not update.

 You are correct, good sir!

It is on the product page:

"Get ready to have your mind (and ears) blown.  AmpliTube 4, a major upgrade to the world’s most powerful guitar and bass tone studio for Mac/PC, is here and will take you to a level of hyper-realism and customization of tone you never knew possible."

I'm curious if Amplitube 3 presets will be directly compatible with Amplitube 4 though, due to the new FX routing possibilities/scheme introduced in Amplitube 4.
