Dumb question...

The download page shows Custom shop released today, and Amplitube 4 released 9/10/15.
Same size files but different serial numbers. Do we need both?

John

The A4 download will install all that you need...

Ok..have to say...nothing is making me go "wow"...
went through all the new amps, and presets...
I wouldn't even say that is is marginally better then A3...
other then the Cab, Room, and Speaker options...

Maybe I'm crazy...but it's just not "there"....for me anyways...

Obviously more time will be needed...unlike S-Gear, where I plugged
in, chose a preset, and said "Holy Crap"...

Although the overall sounds are quite good, I also have to agree with you Larry on this being marginally better than A3 (of course this is just my initial impression going through all the presets). I'm also not quite sure what "Hyper-Realistic" really means........but I'm sure I can get some very good tones out of it with a bit of tweaking.......like I did with A3. I'll need to spend a little more time on it and see what all this "hype" is all about....

I noticed that in the "Miscellaneous Presets", many of them stated "the current preset uses models that are not installed". Does this mean:

1) I already have these models (in my A3 collection??) and just needs installation or

2) I have to purchase all of these a la carte, just so I can hear why A4 included them as a preset? (not going to be happy if this is the case.....)

I got the same message on several of them...mind you I own EVERY Collection other then Mesa, and just about everything else...so it's amazing that I didn't "own" these items...

But, they are, indeed, ala carte items Mesh....

I went another step and added A4 to a mix of a a song I'm working on (very SLOWLY), and it
did make a difference.  I replaced the 2 instances of Bias FX I had on the rhythm guitars with
A4 and selected one of the "Stock" Heavy Rhythm guitars (9000 I believe)  from A4, and I did like it slightly better,
and, as you said, with with some tweaking, I'm sure this will be good...but I'm still not "wowed"

Everything installed and worked correctly here, my old stuff seems to function without need for any intervention on my part, I have everything released for Amplitube 3.

Have to give it a proper drive over the weekend, but thus far all I can say is that BIAS FX and TH2 are fairly safe at the TOP of the ladder. I didn't get any 'WOW' factor thus far from AMP4, it's ok, nice, just not 'WOW' or up there with the competition from my view so far. The weekend will tell if any of that changes, so far Amplitube 4 has left me with that old more of the same 'meh' feeling.

I only rattled through a few of the ones in the Misc presets, but the worked fine for me, no not installed messages, also tried some of my other stuff from Amp 3, it all seemed to work, what I tried anyway. I own everything there is to own from Amp3. Didn't do anything other than install, Auth, select ASIO driver, then fire it up.

If that's the case, those Miscellaneous presets are just a bunch of handicapped presets that's better off being avoided..........I can just build my own rig from scratch.

Somewhat pointless in having in a full version......maybe my expectations are a bit too high in expecting to click on a given preset and hoping to hear the sound of that preset......(this type of behavior is common in demo versions of VST's.

AAAAARGH!!!!

Screwed again, my own fault for not keeping up with technology...

My main computer is a rock solid 32 bit win XP, receding fast into the dark ages.

Looks like Amp 4 is 64 bit only... Oh well, got a win 7 laptop 64 bit...

They should work if you own the missing pieces, maybe you have to do a restore my gear from the Amp4 customshop ? I didn't have to do anything and everything I tried worked, including stuff from before Amp4, only had time to try a limited selection, but still.
