Is there anything remotely resembling a klon(in its clean slight boost setting)? In real life, I have a Mythical Overdrive, which is as close as anything I've tried, and I did get an overnighter with a klon once. "He" borrowed my OD-820 and I got to use the klon. The 820 was reasonably close in the clean boost, but the TS9 circuitry is the last thing I want in an overdrive. The fellow I got it from, had it in the chain every time he recorded a guitar. I met him when we both worked at Universal Music Group.

I'll play around with the diode OD but I have no idea what  it's based on. I'll see if adds that "pixie dust"...

in fact, when John is over today, I'll have him track a bit of lead and see if the MOD "sweetness" will translate to the track, or if the Diode OD is fine. OR we may use no dirt stomp at all. We have little need for anything but the amps to get our crunch for recording.

Charlyg,

Have you experimented at all with using your hardware pedal in conjunction with A4?  If you have a particular boost that you love, maybe putting it in front of your interface will work and give you the results you are looking for.

I find that everything in Ampitube (or any Sim) is modeled after real gear, but may not sound and react exactly like the real thing.  The trick is mixing and matching the components to get the sound that's in your head, regardless of what the model says that it is supposed to be.

I think a great player can make just about anything he plays, sound awesome.  This is from years ago, with A3.

I don't see a PM here, and I am not in Support so I wouldn't get your ticket directly.  What is your ticket number?

Edit - they found your ticket from 4PM yesterday and they replied this morning.  Please check your inbox for the reply.  Thanks

Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus...er...Klon clone that is super fab and inexpensive.  It's from Electro Harmonix and it's called the "Soul Food"...$70 bucks or so...I encourage you to watch any of the many YouTube shootout videos between the two.

Oddly enough I am planning on putting an original Klon "horsey" Centaur up on Ebay soon (Serial # 152).  It's really crazy what they are selling for now.  I had another that I traded for a  brand new Reverend Buckshot several years back and I thought I made out like a bandit then.  But now they sometimes go for almost triple that deal.  I actually prefer the Soul Food.  Check it out.

I have the Soul Food with the JHS mod. It is good, but not as good as the MOD(for the pixie dust). To me.....
