I have a Soul Food laying around here. I was very impressed with it playing thru my Fender Concert. I never got a chance to actually play thru a Klon but I do remember salivating over one that was being demoed in a music store in Atlanta a while back. Everything I do now is in the box with A4 or TH2 nowadays but I do like to pull out a good amp from time to time and it is usually front ended with the Soul Food.

Nice phrasing on your post Larry.
@michaelhanson    I recently found Paul Rose and have been enjoying his YouTubes. I love his phrasing!

And, of course, you may be aware that Bill Finnegan is building the Klon again...although I think he's not hand building anymore.  In truth...while the Klon is a very nice overdrive...I thought that both of mine were overpriced at the $275 I paid for each of them...let alone the $2750.00 they can demand now.

Hey, charlyg! That's the ones I have. I own 2 of the Fender Rivera Concert combos with the 1X12 cabs. Back in the day I owned the Rivera Concert top with 2 4X12s. Thanks for the memories. LOL! The distortion channel was not too good but I was using stomps and racks back then anyway. Ah, the mid 8o's. When music was rockin' and hair was big!!!!!!!!!!

I tried a Klon in the late '90s, but don't have any remorse about not buying it. The Way Huge Saucy, Rockett Archer and Keeley Oxblood are way more interesting to me, but I'm happy with my Lovepedal Burst, Fat Sandwich and Philosopher's Tone for now. I would love to add some more, but am not in a big hurry and am not gigging, so "AmpliTube to the rescue!" LOL
I've owned mostly Fender amps (about 40+) over the past 52+ years, with a PV LA400(which included a hernia! LOL), Music Man RD110 fifty(?), a Roland Cube 60 when they came out, plus a Carvin SX50, Silvertone 1482 and a killer 1946 Noble 5 watt "accordion pearl" covered screamer. All are long gone and a Princeton Reverb is my sole amp, till I buy a Vox, which'll be my first one of those, though I got to gig through a Royal Guardsman ca '66-'67..... might have been a Super Beatle....too far back and no pics.
The only Concert I owned was a 1960, though I've had a ProSonic, Pro (the Pro Tube series)and a Custom Vibrolux. Other than several Blues Deluxes, and Hot Rod Deluxes, most of mine were real tweeds, blonde, brown, or blackface. Now I here about 'em from guys who can afford to collect them! LOL   Oh well....

I played through a Fender Twin Reverb II from 1983 until 2011. It was the last Rivera designed Fender amp and is very underrated now.

My rig in the early years was a Fender Twin sitting on top
of a Fender Dual Showman cabinet...

Yeah...I was trying to be Gonzo....

Holy ****, Larry,

Fender black tube twin on top of a dual Showman double 15" cabinet.

That was my rig. Destroyed many ears with this combination, mine included.

Thought I was the only one who discovered this combo.
