After watching some demos of the Wavelore(?) pedal steel using Kontakt, I started thinking I would have to set money aside and get the full Kontakt. So I'll wait for a sale and maybe get Komplete (not the Ultimate) in the deal, though it sounds like you guys actually prefer the free libraries, which is amazing.
 
Anywhere in particular that Kontakt deals happen?

There are quite a few GREAT sounds that come with Kontakt 5, the original question was asking about user libraries, so that is what responding posts had focused on.  :)

NI will have some things at half off around thanksgiving. Can't always tell exactly what will be half off but for sure a bunch of things will be.

Right Bob, I caught that, but guess I focused more on Bit's opener,
"Most of the good stuff isn't in the NI User Library, it's scattered all over the web. Searching for it is half the fun."
 
I figure there must be all kinds of great stuff in Komplete or they wouldn't sell so many! LOL The sheer number of third party developers is amazing. I should've jumped during the half price sale(?) when it went by.

Nope, it'll have to be a third party Kontakt Player library. That'll get you a $249 crossgrade price for Kontakt instead of $399. And these prices can get sliced in half during sales, so you'd pay $125 for Kontakt.

The last 2 Decembers, they had 50% sale on a number of things.
 
For me, I was able to get the Kontakt 4 to 5 upgrade for just $49, plus a couple of other things for the same price.
 
It was all December long - last 2 years - so just after Black Friday, if not then.
 
Be sure to check any cross-grade prices.

I have an older, non-playable DW8000 and a working rack mount EX8000 brother to it, but I never seem to get to it much.
 
So this is cool to have it for Kontakt as well.
 
Hopefully I'll make use of it now.
