Congrats on your selection for the bandcamp song contest!  I'm not a metal guy (mellowing in recent years), but you obviously know your craft and execute it well.  Kudos!

Lyrics can either float on top or w/in the rest of the music.  Within pulls you into the soundscape (hopefully).  It works for me, is in line w/ other songs in this genre and you seem to have you reasons lined up like ducks.

Real rocker, to boot.  sounds great.

hey very cool you worded it perfectly!! 'w/in the rest of the music' also my vox can get nasally/snarly and if too loud to my ears i'm like "SHUT UP" to myself lol i think the natural harmonics in my overtones cut though enough so you hear the presence of vocals entirely - as to the particular words i kinda always liked going to the lyrics to read them etc.. :) - thanks for listen!! - Daren

Daren,

Everything you have posted to date has thoroughly impressed me.  Excellent work on this song.  I agree that I would turn up the vocals just a touch.

As you had said in the thread on lyrics, "the best lyrics don't say anything definitive-they just temporarily liberate us from the limited ways in which we think and feel."  Well, you nailed it then with these.  I could study these lyrics for days.

xactly. thanks. i try to tell people to not think too deeply about the lyrics and let them mean what you want them to mean/think they mean. art can't exist in a vacuum - it needs an audience, not a definition... :)
