Tim, Mike & Tony.........

The weekends are busy round here...lots of "projects" to do out in the yard and around the house.... so I can't get to the DAW to work on things and adjust them. Suffice it to say I hear the comments and plan to re-do some of the issues mentioned. As I listen I also hear lyric changes that should be made..... so come Monday.........

Thanks for listening and commenting.

Herb,

I never really noticed it before but you and Warren have similar voices.

This was nice song. Nothing wrong with the mix (to my ears).

Mix sounds smoother Herb. I do think the chorus needs developed more. The front line is great but sort of dies after that. (cowboy go, no rodeo) The BIAB steel parts don't seem to lift the chorus the way they should I think (doesn't really lift it).
I don't know if you want to work on it further, but, I think it's got great potential if you apply your newer writing/producing skills to the 'song'.

Well done, Herb.  This is clean and clear, and it reminds me of the music coming from my dad's radio when I was a kid.  It sounds just about right to my ears.

This sounds very authentic.  I love the fiddle and the great pedal steel sound.
We could never sound like that this side of the pond.

Like Lynn, this is the kind of thing my dad listened to. Work a full day, crack a beer and put something like this on...so this brings back memories of sorts because it sounds so much like that other stuff.

After listening to it I thought the cymbal at 3:17 sounded just a little out of place, but then I listened again and it seemed to fit...meh probably neither here nor there. Great song and mix!To someone that doesn't do this, the fact that all the cymbal hits sounded pretty much identical wouldn't be noticed. To me it sounded a little too "canned" for that reason. If you are using midi, maybe even changing velocities a little would help there.

Tim:  smoother,,, sounds good... as far as developing it.... probably not. It was an older song that was setting around..... it's time to jump into writing something new..... so stay tuned...

Don: open and clear, that's what I aim for. thanks, glad you like it.

Robby: did you manage to get in the door to listen.... Miley who?  Oh, you mean Beetlejuice's dance partner...that Miley.....

Lynn, glad you liked it too. Yeah I grew up with the old troubadours on the radio and the record player too.

Champ: side of the pond doesn't matter. I hear that American country music is large over there.... so grab some and have fun.

Starise: could be a bit to mechanical (the drums) but I didn't really re-do the drums on this from the original recording at some point in the past..... the vox and the guitars were the only tracks redone for this version. As I said earlier, I was sandbagging on this tune and really only worked on it to get back in the recording swing of things. I had pretty much taken the summer off from music ....for the most part. I hardly turned on the DAW at all and this was my warm up for whatever comes next.  I'm thinking another "warm up" tune might be in order first.
