I have gotten good results from a "Magnalite Aluminum Dutch Oven." Hold it upside down and hit it (with drumstick) along the edge (where the lid sits) for sharp attack. Use a soft striker (wrap and tape a towel around the drumstick) as an alternative sound. The lid for the same pot works great for a higher pitched sound. Hit it all over for some great sounds.

How about this one?

First thing that sprang to my mind too.  There are others, but... based on his description, Toll.

There are also some really great church bells in Era II Medieval Legends that are sampled from various distances away from the bells. Era II is one of my favorite purchases ever, so it's definitely worth having for more than just the bells. Also, it doesn't require Kontakt. It runs in the free Engine player.

I have Sonokinetic's Carillon, which is pretty cool. I went to find a link for you but it seems to have been superseded by a newer library called Toll.

I'll take that one for the cool factor alone.

That's very cool actually. I guess I'm going to have to just buy Kontakt. I don't use a lot of synths, but I can see some of this going to good use.

If you are going to buy Kontakt, I would recommend you jump in and get Komplete. It comes with Kontakt and a bunch of useful stuff as well. The price difference isn't that great considering all you get. Komplete Ultimate, I couldn't justify, though I have since added some items from Ultimate to my setup during Black Friday sales.

BFlat, I'm not a big synth user either, preferring organic elements over synthetic ones. But Kontakt fits right into that milieu, providing me with believable percussion, strings, brass, pianos and things I didn't know I was missing. Things I wouldn't have thought of using musically or that wouldn't have been available to me anyway: rare antique instruments, exotic ethnic instruments, re-purposed objects (e.g. clothes dryer/water bottles/dumpster for percussion), and instruments I don't know how to play (e.g. hammered dulcimer). Kontakt is the doorway to a whole new world of creative opportunities.

You might want to look at these free bell wavs:

Kontakt is my go to sound source for almost everything.  NI is coming out with Kontakt6 soon, at least according to their site.

Good luck.
