I seem to be the only one who has this bug when installing NI updates. They always fail. My only solution has been to use Windows Installer Clean Up. This is an older program going back to XP.  I've been using this solution for 5 years and still happens on my new systems.

I can't help with your problem but I will say that I have had no problems with the updates.

If I have issues I disable my virus scanner. You could try chkdsk /R as well.

This now happens on all 4 machines.  1 machine has no AV, run chkdsk on all systems every week.

The controller editor installs with no problems and I have no NI hardware.

I can't repro.

If it's on all 4 PC's there's definately something in common with all of them.

The main oddity about machine updates is that a virtual drive needs to be mounted during installation hence my virus scanner suggestion. Something may be blocking the mount.

Cheers..

Probably in common with 7 machines in a 5 year span.  How I got the solution was someone have the same problem. I can't remember if it came from the NI forum.  I decided to post it there.  At least Windows Install Clean Up works on W10.
