Hi firends .

I just wanted to share with you my opinion : i just bought izotope Iris 2 , not really knowing what to expect ...

In fact it's  a super great tool for the price , and i was even wondering this could be an alchemy replacer and some Cakewalk should propose as a part of the bundle (to have some like Logic has with alchemy)
It leads you in territorise that other synths don't . My take on this is that with what i already have , regualr sounds and synths sounds , is what one will use it , but if you like soundesign and starting from a non "conscious" start in a creation : bingo

Still , some stuff have to be tweaked like the browser imho , filter per voice , and quality of timstrech ....but for atonal stuff , it's gogeous , and will replace a lot of kontakt based stuff that coast way more and less tweakble

The big absent from it is an apregg / step sequenceur  ...

I wonder why i don't see a lot people discussing it / using it ?

Maybe because it was such a disappointment for owners of the original Iris see http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=425374

Yep i hear you guyz ... i m surprised by the thread that i have read before my purchase ...some stuff they took off are strange but still ... i think it s a great tool .... not the best but for the price .... great

The simple fact that i have everything in a single interface page is great

I couldnt really get much out of it myself- of course I am an unskilled newbie, but I think I was expecting more source-recognizable morphed sounds. Im not saying it's garbage, just that I felt my time at this point is better spent putting existing sounds together than trying to create a new singular sound.

I have Iris 1 - as I had quite a few of the add on packs, upgrading did not seem a good idea, so I'm still on V1.
I actually used this quite a bit on the last album - little highlight sounds etc
I didn't use it for major lines, so have not really tried it seriously with an arpeggiator / sequencer etc
I really like it - I'd like the tools for manipulating the sound improved, but otherwise good for me.

Well you nailed my point of view , it will be used for texture, etails ect ..not for VIP's in the mix ....some told me youcan do everything in other synths , i said yes but it's not about the sound but how to reach for that sound, Iris seems to conduct the user in areas easy , and in areas that we will not go that easy ....

Now , Faclon just released by UVI ...i'm kinda damn i should have waited a little lol !!
