I give up. I can't make head or tail of whether/which should be enabled for the best overall PROCESSOR performance, which is where my supposedly super-powerful machine has been getting throttled on medium-sized projects that my five-year old machine handled without breaking a sweat.
I know, generally, what the services do, and I'm looking for what the consensus, if any, as to benefits/detriments of each in a Sonar-dedicated PC, all SSD (OS, audio, samples - actually, I also have two older spinners in their, which are only used for longer term storage, not on active projects). I've done all of the standard audio tweaks - actually the factory did - such as high performance power (customized), disabling USB suspend, blah blah, stuff we've all done forever.
I have an newer i7, 68x series, 3.8 Ghz o/c'd to just over 4 at the factory. I haven't touched the settings. Windows and Sonar are up-to-date. RAM is 64B. Drivers all up to date, including for my Nvidia 1070 8GB - which may play a role because since the update (via Windows, not Nvidia), even the most basic graphics are sluggish (like moving a window across a screen).
I can list all my other specs and details, but frankly, I don't want a "fix," to troubleshoot, or a workaround. I want to know what those with far more knowledge than me are doing, and why.
So, help, please, and thank you in advance.
