Listened to your song again this morning... there's something nostalgic for me there...
I really enjoyed the listen...

From your intro I didn't think this song would sound so good - but it does.  Esp. impressed by the drums for a garage production.

And the singing.  Caught me by surprise.  Great tone and fits the song perfectly.

Of course, it is all because of tape and alalog ;-)

That was a really cool song. I enjoyed the listen. After your explanation/disclaimer.... I wasn't expecting that much quality. Nice job on the remix.

I had an old 68 GMC van. The one with the motor between the 2 front seats. While it had a bed of sorts in the back, it was mostly used to carry the PA and my guitar gear.

I truly enjoyed this Mike. Your vocals fit this song really well and you did an excellent job on it. The "remix" came out very well.....if you didn't say what happened to the original tapes, I would've never guessed it.
Well done!!

Hi, Mike,

Excellent job on rescuing and remixing this very classy sounding song with a very nice 60's style vintage vibe!

Your vocals sound really great, and the song and mix sound perfect for the genre.  I wish I had the time to dig out and transfer my originals from the old reels from my Dokorder 7140 and my Fostex Model 80a.  Who knows?  Maybe someday.

Anyway, super work on preserving a valued blast from the past, thanks for sharing it!

Have a good one!
Bob

Thank you all very much for taking a listen and offering encouragement. It means a lot to me that you would all be so kind and share friendship.

I still sing frequently but I will probably never get over being too self conscious about it.

I suspect that many of you know me better by my instrumental experiments and efforts. I have spent a lot of time working with instrumentals because I need the practice learning how to play instruments. :-)

Mike,

I wish you would share more of your stuff as well.  I was pleasantly surprised that you could sing...I have never heard anything but instrumentals from your past work.  I share your feelings about being self conscious about singing.  I don't know if I will ever personally get over it.  It is still the vocals that I fret over the most in my own work.

I can't comment on the production, I only was able to find a few minutes last night to pull this up and listen on my iPhone while multitasking at a few other things.  It sounded good on the iPhone and ear buds, however.

I will repeat what others have said. You can croon pretty good man! And the whole rest of it is good too. Didn't hear the original recording. The end result is clean though.
