I took advantage of that upgrade offer from JRR Shop and am now preparing to master a new song/mix.
 
Previously, I would load my exported mix track wav file and a reference track wav file into a new project in Sonar and master with Ozone 5 and/or individual plugins I've picked up along the way.
 
But, with Ozone 6 Advanced you can load multiple files and use other VST's in the mastering chain as well.  I guess iZotope is doing what IK Multimedia did with the T-RackS suite, except that you can use whatever plugins you like and just use Ozone as a host DAW.
 
I know folks were disappointed about some features of Ozone 6, but the Advanced version seems like an excellent mastering solution.  I believe you can even load older Ozone modules, like the reverb from Ozone 5, but I'm not positive about that.  Just started going through the tutorials this week.

The loss of the Reverb Module is what prompted the outcry, which, I can
see that that is "losing" a feature, but the question must be asked ...

Do you REALLY use a Reverb when you're Mastering?

I certainly don't.  I'm sure it was nice to have, but if you
REALLY think about it., Reverb is rarely, if ever, used, when
Mastering, so why would a "Mastering" processor have one?

The reverb in Ozone is pretty cool actually. depending on what kind of music you're mastering. I like it for really dry jazz recordings or for classical strings etc. It alows me to put the master in a more apropriate space. For metal, pop, rock etc, it's of no use to me.

That I can completely understand.  You still have the ability to use "any" reverb.

Of course - but will it be as subtle? ;)
