Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to drop in and share my new album, Echoes In The Dark with all of you.
I'm a Cakewalk user since Pro Audio 4.0 and have never switched. Love my Cakewalk products and I create all my music with Sonar at the center of my setup.

Over the past 15 years I've worked on music for rap groups, I had my own little comedy-rap projects I put out there, I've composed scores for films, commercials, video-games and other kinds of projects... But now I find myself finally coming full circle and releasing my first album of instrumental electronica... The kind of music I got into composing in the first place for.

So far the reviews on the album have been very good and it's exciting to see that people are digging what I've put together... although it's even more important for me just that I LOVE what I've made... I really feel like I accomplished so much and I made an album that I'm so proud of.

You can listen to it on Bandcamp here: http://davidrosen.bandcamp.com ... and if you want of course, you could always buy it too ;-)
It will also of course be on all the other sites within the next week or so.

Would love to hear you guys' feedback as fellow Cakewalk/Sonar users. I'm already well into my next album (now that I've finally put something out, I figure I'll just keep doing it), not to mention more composing jobs. But I've just begun on promoting this first album. Some of you have seen my "Lights In The Sky" video which won Best Short at Las Vegas IndieMeet and was just today accepted into the Pollygrind Film Festival, also here in Las Vegas. I've submitted it to a few more fests as well, and am planning on putting out some more videos for songs from the album in the near future.

So if you decide to give the album a listen, thank you, and I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

David Rosen

Great stuff David!  Very professional sounding.  Sounds a bit like a film soundtrack, which is what I guess you were going for, given your past experience.  Congratulations on your release!

May I ask, what synths are you using?  Lately I've been loving Reaktor, Battery, Absynth (and all the NI stuff), AAS Lounge Lizard, etc.  I feel like I'm just scratching the surface of the Cakewalk synths Dimension Pro, Z3TA+2, and Rapture, but haven't quite figured them out yet.

Hey Thanks, I really appreciate the comments. Definitely going for a film soundtrack feel, mixed with some industrial and various styles of electronic music. I'm really proud of what I captured, I think it came together even better than I expected when I started out.

Anyway as for my synths, I of course use the Cakewalk stuff (although SessionDrummer has been crashing on me a lot lately for some reason so I haven't been using it lately), and a bunch of NI stuff (especially Absynth and Battery) but my go-to's lately are Nexus2 and Omnisphere. Love the two of those. Also BFD2 for drums is great. But yea, over the past year I've just been really pumping a lot of my money into this stuff haha. Hopefully if the album does well I can buy even more. (and more and more haha).

Thanks David.  Omnisphere looks huge!  I may have to start saving up for that one, both money and time for exploration. ;)

p.s.- I believe I responded to the wrong song.  I meant to comment on your other post and got mixed up.  Oh well.  Good job anyway.
