Anyone have this pack and what are your thoughts on it?

Is it fair to compare it to Ozone?

IMHO you can't compare the two. Ozone is a much more full featured and flexible tool. EZMix has a number of presets that have minimal control over parameters. They are designed for different audiences and purposes.

DRanck is correct.  Will EZMix get a decent result?  Maybe...

But Ozone, even just Ozone Standard, is far more full featured and robust then
EZMix.  Ozone is designed more for those "in the know" then the EZMix Mastering
Pack (btw..there is 1 & 2 of these) which is designed for the "Novice" to be EZ...

EZMix does not even come close to Ozone's capability! There I said it!

Thanks guys, I see that it's not a fair comparison.

Is it worth getting for say $15 or will this VST just go into the dust collection of unused vst's?

I'm a total novice at mastering and haven't really attempted it yet, but do have T-Racks Deluxe, Master EQ 432, and a bunch of others + what came with Splat.....and I ain't afraid to use any em!!

If you're just looking for some quick results it might be worth the $15,
but you'd get better results using the T-Racks standalone and a preset IMO...YMMV

Ozone and EZ Mix are so far from each other there is just no comparison. Ozone is a state of the art mastering tool and EZ Mix is not. That being said , EZ Mix is a useful tool and does what it is designed to do well. How much does Ozone cost? How much is an EZ mix pack?  When you pay your money for a new program the time it takes to learn it is just as much an expense as the dollar amount. I have decided T-Racks and EZ Mix and a few others are how I will approach mastering. Completely arbitrary decision. Learning my DAW and FX and Instruments and the hardware is enough for me right now. I'm not even caught up on all the SONAR additions. And I could use some new strings on my guitar. And a little more practice would be worth while. For me, both Mastering packs are worth having. And I am hoping there is a new T-Racks soon. The last few, the mastering EQ  and Stealth Limiter have been great. I don't consider myself a novice but maybe cuz that's where I'm at right now. Ozone isn't on sale is it? How much? Where?

And no, it isn't even a little fair.

Mesh, I have done tons of projects with just the tools available in Sonar. That is, after Concrete Limiter became available. Mainly, as an experiment to see if any clients could tell the difference between using Sonar plugs or the Super-Duper stupidly expensive mastering plugs. NO ONE has mentioned a thing about how much better the results were!!!!
That is not to say that one way is better than another but I have found that MOST people can not tell the difference in a blindfold test. I have played master mixes to the clients of both versions and a lot of them preferred the Cake mastering version over the Super-Duper version.
Mastering has to do with the knowledge of how to use the tools that you have available to you. When you get right down to it, if you have a working knowledge of EQs, compressing, and limiting, you are more than 80% there. Just try your hand with what you have. Oh, and don't forget to do your research!!! The internet is full of info on how to master. Don't forget YouTube videos as well.
