Florida man shot by his dog In His Truck, police say
http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/26/17107343-florida-man-shot-by-his-dog-police-say?lite

WOW , Timothy ,......now that's a story ...
here's how I feel after reading it.
I'm all in for allowing dogs to cary guns in Florida since they got lots and lots of Alligators down there ...

but it is very unrealistic to expect a dog to have to deal with a gun that has an excessive trigger pull & weight..
asking a dog to have to kick a trigger is asking a lot since the dog might need his legs for other things like fleeing the scene of danger if it is at all possible ...
After reading that , one could say that my beef is now with the dog owner ,
Why he let his dog cary a somewhat large semi automatic weapon in an unknown caliber is beyond me ...
Most dogs can do perfectly fine w a J frame S&W 5 shot revolver that has a bobbed hammer and a Light trigger pull
it is easy to conceal, easy to check to see if it is loaded, and it goes bang when you point it & pull the trigger ...
also the dogs owner could of exercised a lot more common sense when it comes to personal firearms safety ...
all guns are always loaded until you perform a safety check to make sure that it is unloaded ..
not even knowing the caliber ...sheessh
I actually kinda feel sorry for the dog ... I'm glad no charges were pressed against him
Now ....I wonder if there is more to this story .....Did the guys Ex put the dog up to it ?
