Here's a whimsical folky, mellow song that moves at a nice pace. I'm doing the vocal & guitar, playing the bass & synth in the box and using groovemonkee.com MIDI loops for the drum kit, which is from the E-Mu Planet Earth collection, loaded in Dim Pro. Bass is also Dim Pro and the Synth is Minimoog Original w/ the Classic Phaser. Hope you enjoy.

This is very different and I really don't understand where you are coming from with this, but as you said above it is very whimsical for sure. The vocals aren't bad at all, but the choice of instrumentation seems to fit whimsical, so there you are whimsical for sure.

Peace and Blessings, John

Danke! My songwriting partner(lyricist) for this project was a new mom when we were writing this, so that's what it's about.

what an interesting vibe for a lullaby... The guitar could use some low end content...  the vocal effect is.., interesting... hookline phrasing could use some timing attention... Congrats to the new mom & dad...

Wookiee
Interesting, not one to really comment on vocal as Wookiee singing kills at a par sec, but the vocal sounds in a completely different space to the rest.

Thanks for sharing.

The vocal sounds really boxy.  I hear some old CSN in this (showing my age).  I would use an electric bass.  Needs some good kick drum too.

Hi Joe, nice and whimsical. I like the synth at the end.

Thank you all so much for your comments!  just got raked over about the vocals from my songwriting partner so I'm hearing it from all sides. I may have to re-record upstairs. The vocal on Bastards(another song from this project that I posted here) was recorded up there and it sounds the best of all the tracks.
I'll see about bringing up the kick drum.

The song is interesting. I agree on the vox. They sound disconnected for the rest of the mix. Almost like the "telephone" EQ preset was used.

Perhaps... just thinking aloud here, this song, based on the topic and emotion would be better served as a "more acoustic" melody. Lose the snappy snare and Emerson Lake and Palmer synths. Go for a more organic sound.... fingerpicking, strumming guitars, maybe a mandolin, and if you use the upright bass, something with less of the jazz slides ... more along the folk roots that CSN used in their tunes.

To me, musically, and instrumentally,  this seemed to be all over the place, searching for what the song really wanted to be.
