Moshkito
Hi,
Sharke ... I use the email address from my website ... moshkiaeatsomeplaceorotherpedrosena.bs, and then forwarding that.
I would NEVER EVER FOREVER use those free mail accounts ... they are the setups that helped flood the internet with spam and more spam, and what not. My friend used to have a server on gmail, and has taken it out of there because of security concerns and the fact that he was (likely) getting hit from it. I would not know about the receipt kind of thing, but sending it to the incorrect address is simple horrendous mail server administration and totally reckless management by gmail folks ... regardless of what they say.
I would consider filing a complaint with the state consumer protection agency, as if there are enough complaints, the state's Attorney General, has the ability to freeze all the accounts from further use, by anyone on that state, until the company can address the issues.
My preference is that we start killing them by leaving. If 10 million people leave gmail ... they will stop being arsenicholes and idiots! ... someday! Their "stock" will suffer ... gladly!
I've used Gmail for over 10 years and never had a problem with it up until now. Never been hacked or anything like that, which is more than I can say for my ancient Hotmail account which got hacked by Nigerian spammers not once but twice.
I don't have a problem with Spam in my Gmail accounts, the spam filter seems to work perfectly and every now and then I will just empty my spam folder with a single click.
The reason why I use Gmail is because it has the best interface and functionality out there IMO. My business email is through my website, but I have it linked to my Google Apps account which means I can access it through the Gmail interface. Wasn't too hard to set up and works perfectly. Whenever I try to use the interface of other email services I just feel like I've gone back in time. I have a couple of Yahoo accounts that I use for throwaway stuff and I can't stand being on there for more than a few seconds.
