Hi All,

I've all of the sudden developed an issue with Sonar X3, seems like a library file has become corrupt, I've tried restarting my notebook and starting again but still get the same error.

Would like to be able to fix this without having to go through a full install, I have so many add-ons and stuff that to get this back to working and all the plug-ons is going to be a nightmare.

Here is the popup I get:
<Oh man, how do I upload screenshots??>

SONARPDR.exe - Bad image
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR X3 Producer\TTSlibsndfile.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
Error Status 0xc0000020.

There is nothing in the windows event logs, and also I have not installed any additional add-ons for a while, and has been working ever since - I was using sonar just earlier today, saved a session.  Come back to do some further work on it and now this!!!

Help!!!

Jim

Ok I found another copy of the bad dll file in Sonar X3 Studio folder and copied it back over the top, all works fine now!!

Cheers, I'll leave the post here in case someone else comes across this problem, saves them from re-installing...

Good work, JimmyBoy. (Sheesh, that sounds like I'm congratulating a dog for fetching a tennis ball.)

Wish everybody took the time to do a little investigating before giving up. Some would have just thrown up their hands and declared they were moving to Cubase.

Hi all, I have same problem in Sonar Professional.  Started in last week.  Windows seems to randomly damage .dll files (CJLibrary, TTSLame, CWVideoEngine) and suddenly they are 0kb.  If you copy them across from a backup, ok again and all works.  Happening several times a day.  Really annoying.  Never seen anything like this before.  Anyone else?

This problem hasn't re-occurred for me since I reported this in my post above.
In your case, and to yet another person this is happening to (contacted me via email) I would try and catch what process is causing the problem and then deal with that.  I would try using Process Monitor for starters, Download and detail usage is available from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon

What concerns me (since we are on an older version of sonar) is if you find it is cakewalk sonar process causing the problem, will then cakewalk be willing to investigate and fix it so that it doesn't re-occur again?
