The Band19
When I saw the title, for some reason my eyes played a trick on me and I thought it was "What is love" (baby don't hurt me) which oddly enough is what I said to my "escort" recently? That riding crop can sting...
I don't know how you play in all of those different keys? Actually I do, but it's just that I could never do it. I think of lead as "in a key" a musician like you in a song like this thinks of lead as "in a chord" and those cords are constantly moving. So you play through one and then land in the next key/shape/scale. I understand how it works, I just don't understand how someone can do it.
Good job.
Hi Robby ,
I've been wrestling w this sort of thing " how do you do this " myself for a lot of years....
I would practice scales, arpeggios, and chord changes in just about every key until I was blue in the face ..
I always felt that I got a lot out of that type of practice since it translates well to other forms of music
Yet , if my life depended on it , I always felt as if I couldn't play my way out of a paper bag when I got hit w changes I didn't understand or know .....
w this clip I just did my best to look ahead through the changes and land on my feet musically
I have come to the conclusion that there are no real easy answers ....
Here I am , and I'm no spring chicken

enrolled in an online class trying to find a few answers on how to do this .....
thanks for taking the time and giving my jazz guitar playing a listen
